I have heard that any Thomas Keller restaurant is excellent. When I go back to Vegas with the GF I will definitely look into reservations...In June we were deciding on either Olives or Bouchon and went with Stratta in Wynn..In the end we were very happy with our choice. The manager ended up comping the corkage fee and the meal was great.Count the cannons....

We did SW the first night in Vegas and it was under-whelming to say the least. I spent a ton of money and found no real value. The place was over booked and the waiter was constantly looking over his shoulder. SW claims to be a high-end steakhouse yet failed to deliver on service. Talking to the manager at Stratta and making observations of my own it seems as though SW is over-booked and it hurt the service IMO. I had the filet and would have rather gone to the Circus Circus Steakhouse for one. If there is a next time I will order the Double Chile Rub Rib Eye. It wasn't a terrible meal but it definitely was not worth the money I spent.Originally posted by MikeyTantalo View PostStratta is great! Check Switch or SW next time!!Count the cannons....

Stratta wont be around much longer. He left, Steve Wynn I heard the two of them blew up at each other in December 2010. He's not listed as a chef of Wynn. They closed down Alex his main restaurant January 15th. Stratta will go when they find a replacement.Last edited by Brontes_Muse; 10-14-2011, 12:24 AM.

Olives is another great place, no matter how sold out they are, they keep a table in the back and when i need it, boom, they bring it out and set it on the center patio. I have eaten there tons of times and sent numerous peopleOriginally posted by GP7787 View PostI have heard that any Thomas Keller restaurant is excellent. Hidden Gem?
NYNY Gallaghers across from the piano bar.
Go see Fernando, Willy, Kris, or Rochelle at the bar at Gallaghers. They'll make a mac&cheese with prime rib mixed in - I get that as an app!
The filet is the only cut I enjoy and I haven't found one better than this place. I promise satisfaction guaranteed. One of their managers is Chris and the other is John - both great guys. Chef Robert is the man.
NYNY Gallaghers - tell them Lombardi sent you!

I'd say this post nails it.Originally posted by BSM View PostIn my opinion, there's only five steakhouses worth going to in Vegas that'll have that New School Vegas Vibe.
1. STK @ Cosmo
2. CUT @ Palazzo
3. N9NE @ Palms
4. Craftsteak @ MGM
5. SWITCH @ Encore
If you're looking for a spot with a bit more traditional atmosphere
1. Prime @ Bellagio
2. Carnevino @ Palazzo
3. The Steakhouse at Circus Circus (YES, you read that correctly)
4. Delmonico @ Venetian
5. SW Steakhouse @ Wynn
If you want to go to a steakhouse where you'll be lulled to sleep by Spa Music, you have one choice.
1. Boa @ Caeser's Forum Shops
Personally, I can't see myself going anywhere BUT STK over the next few trips - - it's really going to be an impressive place that'll take the crown away from them.

I just ate at CUT and liked it better than Craftsteak (had a money bone in ribeye with chimichurri), mostly because it didn't feel as cavernous (maybe I was just drunk). Plus it was a great launchpad to hit Lavo on Sunday. But both are pretty awesome -- I appreciate Craft for its sustainable food. Gonna try STK next trip.
I used to hit Mesa Grill at Caesars a lot -- not a full on steakhouse, but they've got some cool dishes (had a banging skirt steak once; like nothing I've had since because Flay's a sauce king). Never had a bad meal there. It's kind of fallen down the chain now that it's a few years old though.

I'm really curious about the Steakhouse @ Circus Circus. They must be doing something right to be there for years and still be at the top of the lists amongst those on the list***Feb 2012 - Aria - Marquee *** March 2012 - Encore - Marquee, Surrender
***May 2012 - Aria - Marquee, Surrender ***June 2012 - Cosmo - Marquee, XS, EDC
***June 2012 - Aria - Marquee ***July 2012 - Monte Carlo - XS
***Aug 2012 - Aria - Marquee, XS ***Oct 5-6 - Monte Carlo - Marquee
