On the bright side, maybe this will make it easier for squares like me to get into the clubs.

wow.. not really earth shattering since the allegations had been on the rumor mill for awhile.. but definetly a blow to the marketing of PH. Young partiers that didn't know any better all flock to PH and Prive from all the marketing but they may think of staying elsewhere now. Guess when I'm staying at PH in 2 weekends I won't have to wade through the crowd stacked trying to get in. lol

I wonder if maybe room prices will go down at PH because of this.

I just did a search on Expedia, and prices for a PH flight/vacation package are down like $35 from when I checked yesterday without an equivalent drop at other hotels.

short term no.. long term possibly but not solely b/c of probable loss of Prive.. i'm sure another club will open up shop and get a liquor license.. however, the PH timeshares are coming online in nov/dec.. so you're going to have the hotel side competing with the timeshare side on renting out rooms.. Then across the street you have several thousand rooms coming online by year's end. Then there's the paradise tower at Hard Rock that's about to open up. I know a lot of people go to PH purely b/c they can get cheap rooms during the week or because they're part of SPG and want points or are able to get a free room. But I'm sure the young partiers looking for a PH type vibe probably also cross-shop with Hard Rock and Palms.

I figure for the next few months you could see reduced prices. PH is representing itself as a young persons party hotel, but with the closing of their major club its sort of a turn off. I know they will replace it, but for the moment their demand will be down.

can you say HUGE opportunity for the waits bros, or tao group or one of those type place, so long as theyre not one of the nine places under investigation. this could be the beginning of something very interesting!!
it's that time again, let's get #28 gentleman....for the boss

I don't know... I mean, they closed Trader Vic's & the LA Comedy Club to open up a Sammy Hagar's Cabo-Wabo bar/nightclub [I know, seriously?]. That plus the Hawaiian Tropic Zone kind has me wondering what demographic PH's trying to attract. Would seem to be more 35+ than 22-29 bracket that a major club would garner.

anyone notice the story is backwards. 1. judge denies liquor license 2. ph is fined 500k 3. ph negotiates a new lease with prive for more control to oversee things.

why negotiate a new lease if the club is shutting down????
