4/29/14:

Not going to lie almost forgot about finishing this thing Lol. Anyway...

I wake up from the previous nights roman like debauchery after VERY little sleep due to any combination of things (these include pure adrenaline, loud noise from the party that was still going when i went upstairs, and my pool hustling new lady friend being quite demanding of 'attention' once upstairs), all of this adding up to me actually sleeping for about maybe 2 hours max. I find myself in the situation of HAVING to attend my conference no matter what today (despite my learning very little, my being there counts towards some continuing education stuff for work) and having no time to go back to my hotel and change clothes... well okay. I do a quick whores bath (Google it) because whats the point of showering and throwing on the same suit and shirt you have been wearing for 95 percent of 24 hours and figure fuck it. Also i was inslopsicated so that might have detracted from my rationale. Anyway i decide to just head over to Cosmo hitching a ride with my new conference friends and quickly discover that i am not alone with regards to having partied just a bit too hard, some folks that are definitely a lot more 'important' than me are clearly hung over and in the same wrinkled suits as the day before. Pretty sure most of the instructors/guest lecturers were thinking these people definitely can't handle their fucking Vegas. I haven't been hungover in years but i have to admit that morning i fought the battle but did not win the war, Vegas held me down and farted in my face and their was nothing i could do but smell it man. The only remedy i could see for this was to drink more during the day so in between each lecture on break i had a beer or something (as well as tons of water, i mean like i am about to piss my pants sitting in my chair every 10 minutes amount) and honestly that worked for me, by the end of my conference (around 5:30pm) i felt fine. I in no way recommend anyone drink as much as i think i did the previous day and night BUT if you are going to when you wake up forget about all the IV fluids and shit and just do water and some more light drinking (oh and something to eat obviously).

After my conference i hustle back to my hotel room to finally change (cause in all honesty i had bad case of swamp ass after more than 24 hours in the same clothes, just saying) and i then have the greatest dilemma of all: I am fucking EXHAUSTED, do i risk the chanc eof a nap or try to power through the night? Now some people reading might be thinking whats the big deal sleep for a few hours, but any Vegas vets will no why this is such a big problem. The nap is the killer of dreams in Vegas, if you have been going hard your body will absolutely betray your mind and literally shut down on you. I already let this bitch Vegas get the better of me for one night and i have been having such a good time that i REALLY don't want to lose another night. After sitting in my room debating what to do like it was the story in the bible when that wise king dude decides to split that baby in two when the two mothers ask him to decide who keeps it (seriously this decision was THAT big a fucking deal to me at the time, biblical shit) i decide i am going to take a nap. I set the alarm in my room, i set the alarm on my phone, i set the alarm on my ipad, i set the alarm on my computer, and THEN i walk down stairs check at the front desk and ask a cute girl who is there if she will be on duty for the next 3 hours (she says affirmative) give her 20 dollars and ask her to call my room to wake me up as she laughs knowingly. I have done EVERYTHING i can think of to guarantee that i will not sleep through the night and head upstairs tentatively.

After what seemed like 5 minutes (it was 3 hours) i wake up tired but successfully so i'm ahead of the game. I remembered that i was supposed to call Sam (a British chick i met earlier in my trip and mentioned in previous days of this TR who i had been texting back and forth with a lot), I call her up and she has pretty much had a terrible situation going on, pretty much i would imagine every one's Vegas nightmare: Sam had come to Vegas for roughly a week for her 30th birthday, obviously form the back and forth we had been having by text i know that she was doing it big, clubs, pool parties etc. during the course of all this she actually the previous day either lost or had her wallet and I.D etc stolen. Obviously with her leaving the next day this was a major problem in that she now had to cancel her credit cards, somehow get a new passport (British remember) and also now had no cash and most of her friends had flight that left the day before. Just fucking yikes. Anyway, she thankfully had some kind of travel insurance so was able to have alot of those things taken care of and quickly, but she found herself staying in a REALLY shitty hotel for the next day or so. I thought to myself well in Vegas on a Tuesday you can find a VERY cheap room for like 40 bucks or so but here is the thing NOT if you don't have ID or a credit card. So yeah she was kind of screwed in terms of options... leading to:

Sam was staying in a part of town even I had never been to or knew existed. For the Vegas vets she was staying at Bills Gambling hall if you have never heard of this place (cause i sure fucking hadn't) please Google it for context of how shitty this hotel was. But apparantly they play it pretty loose with the rules at the hotel part so she was able to check in with cash for the night. I agree to go grab her for dinner not knowing how bad the situation was. When i get in the cab even the fucking cab driver kind of raises an eyebrow when i tell him where i am going. I get there and i shit you not THIS just HAS to be the hotel where every major drug deal in Vegas happens. It is a shit hole and reminds me of the hotel from Scarface where Tony Montana gets hung up in the bathroom with a chain saw as other drug dealers try to steal his kilo of coke (pretty much every man reading this knows what scene i am talking about), not even trying to be funny this is the first thing i thought. As i am walking around the hotel, (its on one of those holiday inn type places with multiple levels where the room doors open and your immediately outside for the world to see) i see people with their doors wide open and looking just sad (no other way to put it man) before i even get to Sam i realize i can't let this woman stay here. I get to her room and am thankful she is still alive (seriously i did not grow up in the best places but even i would say this place was hood) and pretty much tell her pack her shit i can't let her stay here for the night. I assure her there is NO expectation on my part i'll sleep on the couch i have a very large One bedroom suite and the doors to the bedroom can be locked. After some initial back and forth (which i totally understand on her part, nut i assure her as a man i wouldn't feel right letting her stay there) she agrees and we head over to my room at Palms Place. Now don't get me wrong i was attracted (VERY) to Sam and we had done a few little things before but more importantly i believe in doing good things and putting it out in the universe, so it really was more about that than anything. After checking in and letting her check on her arrangements for leaving tomorrow (new passport arrival, flight info etc.) I want to do something nice for her since i had planned on doing that anyway before for her birthday but now feel like she REALLY needs it. I was able to find a table at Joel Robuchon at MGM through the same front desk chick i gave a 20 to earlier, and we had one of the best meals i have ever had in Vegas (french food thanks corporate card!).

Afterwards, we head over to the Cosmo and the Chandelier Bar for drinks and to meet up with the linoleum crew cause if anybody could use a few drinks and a good time i figure its Sam. They don't disappoint and we cheer her up considerably (i am sure the alcohol helped). I get a text from Tara Denise ( a long time presence on the forums) inviting me out to wherever they are going but i didn't want to leave at the moment and we make plans for the following day. I had plans to hit a club up that night but turned out to be just as a good a time just chilling with good people, strong drinks, and a pretty girl. As far as my belief in Karma? Put it this way once we got back to Palms Place i didn't have to sleep on the couch and that was through no design on my part.

Is the Palm Place worth staying at? Even though its so far from the Strip? I know that its cheaper but you will end up spending your savings in cab fare to and from the Strip.

I can only speak for myself, I normally choose to stay closer to the strip,but as i stated in the beginning of my TR one of my best friends wanted to stay there so I went along. I had no issues with the rooms (had a one bedroom suite plenty of space, like a shit load) and a cab to Caesars on the strip was like 10 bucks max which for me was fine. It wasn't a cost cutting move to stay there but for me I would definitely stay again.
