So normally I had someone that was available to give me limo rides on the "side". But he has left town as he used to work for CLS and wanted to get away from all the drama involved with them.

What are you guys using for larger groups (10+) people for moving between hotels, bars, clubs etc. I get splitting a couple cabs but that's really not my style. Anyone know of limo companies that do pick up / drop off without paying the hourly rate or min?

I've had luck just talking to the limo drivers that park near the taxis at hotels. Just tell them where you're headed and they'll most likely quote you some ridiculous rate and then you can just bargain with them.

It's my understanding that Vegas requires personal car services to charge a minimum rate of $45/hr and a minimum of one hour no matter the distance. I have been charged less than that to take a limo point to point by one of the limos sitting at the taxi line, but I doubt you'll find limo companies wanting to talk about skirting the law on here. That law is actually one of the barriers to entry for Uber in Vegas.

guess I'm going to uber route - or going to tip my limo driver from the airport hard and ask him if he's doing side driving.

Generally, how many people can fit in a limo?

Ah depends , 6-8 is a "normal limo" suv limos 10-14.... The guy I used had an H2 limo so it was easy moving around 10-12 people. He would charge me $50 a "drop" so from one place to the next it was $50. usually we would bounce from like main hotel to dinner to show to club and back to hotel. That could take 5-8 hours - no way i'm paying for 5-8 hours worth of limo service when it's just quick drops. That type of night would cost $200 and I'd tip $100. If I split that up in 2 cabs of 5 people a piece it would have costed more than that and not as convenient.
