I've always been a fan of these but never have done one before despite going to Vegas several times a year. Here is my first shot at it. This trip was the first full week of April. It is a business trip but I will keep the business end out of it expect when it involves free drinks or clubs.
The cast:
Me, early 30s single white male in fairly good shape. I look younger. Young at heart at the very least. I'm here solo but end up meeting people from this forum like I do all the time.
Friday night.
I got in really late. Landed at 10:30pm. First stop is "The Library" Liquor store at the airport. The prices aren't any different than the places on the strip and I'm always excited to get going fast so this is my first stop if I didn't check a bag and pack my own. Just grab a big bottle of vodka and some mixers. I head out to grab a taxi. The line is crazy...at least 15 minutes or more. I yell out to people at the front of the line "anyone going to Aria, Vdara or Monte Carlo want to split a cab?" Some old couple in their 60s smile and wave at me. "We are!" I wave back and duck under and through the triple bent around line to get up to them. Doug and Mary introduce themselves. They are the tits. Turns out they were drinking the entire plane ride out of aspirin bottles they filled with rum. They told me TSA never checks what old people actually have in an aspirin bottle so they fill a few with booze and drink it up on the plane. My kind of people. We are fast friends.
I pay for the cab ride out of appreciation for letting me ride with them. They grab my phone number and say they will meet up with me later in the weekend to buy me some drinks for the cab ride. I rarely turn down free drinks and these guys were fun despite being double my age. I check in at Monte Carlo quickly thanks to being able to get in a fast lane with my mlife card (one of the few perks of the upper tiers that actually does something useful for me).
Since I knew it would be after midnight by the time I changed and got dressed I really didn't make any firm plans. I txt'd Chris whom I meet on this forum last spring on a previous trip since I knew he was in town. He said he was all the way over at M-Bay at one of their hotel bars but he was heading to bed soon, so I bid him a good night and decided to head into the Gold Lounge with this 2 for 1 drink ticket that somehow appeared in my hand while was concentrating on my texting. Gold was really chill. I grabbed a drink and the bar tender was nice enough to hold by free one on my tab til I was ready for it. Started talking to a big group of Canadians. Our friends from the North are always very good people and fun company. I talked with them for a while about Wolverines and Maple donut and other northern topics til my drinks were gone. They said they were all going to Haze and said I should come along. "What the hell, got nothing better to do." I was kinda late by now but Haze was still packed due to Nelly being there (I think it was anyway, he was done by the time we got there). The crowd was starting to die down so it didn't take long to get in. I didn't pay. I'm not sure if someone in the group paid for me or if they let us in for free. Had a good time inside. Drank some more. Danced with a few of the Canadian girls in a good, drunkin way. I ran out of gas pretty quickly though and decided to call it a night around 4:30ish. Gave a few my new friends my number in case they wanted to meet up later.
Saturday.
Slept in and got up around noon. I went to the gym, then hit up the hot tub. Around 4 I went over to Aria to play some poker. Aria poker room is my favorite place to play. The game is already friendly. I play low stakes (1-3) but usually do well. Had diner from Lemon Grass at the table. Walked away around 6:30 up $160 and 4 Vodka/Sugar Free Red Bulls. Headed over to the Fashion mall real quickly to get a hair cut at Regis. $38 later I had a stylish new cut and headed back to my room to shower and change. Around 9:30 I headed out the door to the Mirage. Joey Orr had set me up with a deal at 1Oak. Texted the guys from the forum I was sharing with. We were meeting up at "Lobby Bar" in the Mirage lobby. Joey had originally gotten us a b2g1 deal when he had a bigger group but a few people bailed on us so it was just four guys so he got us a b1g1. Very nice of him and one of the reasons I have used him several times for BS. Met the other guys at Lobby bar. Two guys were in their early 40s and knew each other already. It was their first time hitting up the Vegas night life, they had two women with them that they knew from somewhere (I don't recalled exactly where but they were warm and funny. I was fine with them coming along). The other guy was in town solo for his 25th birthday. We had a good age range but got along really well from the start. We met Joey at 10:45 and he got us right in. The table was in a lot nicer location than I expected for a b1g1 deal. It was in the main area just to the right of the DJ booth toward the middle. We paid the bill up front in cash and got two bottles of Skyy. All-in with a tip for Joey came to about $200 a guy. Can't get a much better deal anywhere in town on a Saturday night.
By the time we got our bottles things started to pick up and get busy. As I was pouring a drink, my head turned to see hot woman after woman walk by me to the table next to us. Said a little thank you under my breath and played it cool, ignoring them and talking to my new friends at the table. The bouncer whom we had tipped brought us some girls but they were lame has hell. Wouldn't even talk, just fu--ing sat there so I ask him to remove them. About this time some of the hotties from the table next to us got up on platforms and started dancing on the poles. The bouncer quickly came over, said something to them and they quickly got down. I figure now was a good time to introduce myself. I made some charming joke about being disappointed they had to get down. Cute blonde said they were asked to get down because they didn't have their shoes on but could go back up later if they left their shoes on. I decided to work quick and asked if any of them were single. Me and my buddies were looking to have a good time. She said no, all 13 of them were here for the weekend from Orange County on a their last bachelorette party. The 13th one was getting married. But she smiled, put her hand on my arm and said they were there to have a good time and they would help us hook up with some girls. I exclaimed how I didn't believe how all of them could be married and how great they all looked yada yada yada but it was the truth and they ate it up. Many of them reportedly had kids but none of them in the bunch were worse than a 6. After flirting with cute blonde and her friends for a while she pulled out her phone to show me a picture of her husband and kids but somehow accidentally flipped to, dwelled on and zoomed in on photos of what had happened earlier that night in their suite at the Cosmo. There were pictures of some of them topless spanking each other and all kinds of other crazy stuff. I don't think they were gay... just goofing around while drunk to take pics to show off. I enjoyed them very much. Anyway, not to go into too many details but we all had really good time. Many things that I'm sure they weren't going to tell their husbands about. Everything was going great until I had to use the rest room. I came back and they were all gone. I thought it was really odd that they just left but the people in the next table said they got moved to a new table and pointed them out. I headed over to go rejoin the fun. They were at a table right above the dance floor. They waved to me and motioned me to come in. That is when I hit a wall known as a giant bouncer. I tried to explain to him that they wanted to me to come in and he wouldn't even make eye contact. Just said "ladies table only." The woman came over to tell him it was okay to let me in but he would budge or even acknowledge they were talking to him. I'm not sure what kind of BS power trip that is or what business purpose it serves if it is a policy but it really pissed me off. I had plenty to drink at this point and just decided to leave it go because let's face it. It is a battle I'm not winning. Only outcome is getting kicked. So I go to see what else was happening out on the dance floor. Who knows what would have been had I been able to hang out with those ladies the rest of the night. I'm guessing nothing. They likely had a line they weren't going to cross but I can dream, can't I?
Anyway the rest of the night was pretty uneventful. The women out on the dance floor were lame. One cute one was dancing with me but she was so drunk she started annoying me because kept wanting to talk but wasn't making sense. Just sloppy. I'm not that kind of guy that takes advantage of woman so I just decided to call it a night and walked out rather angry. They next day though I realized it was still a really fun night even if it didn't end on a high note.
Anyway, enough for now. I can continue if anyone wants to hear more. Had some good and bad days ahead.
