Official 2013 Jackify Invasions Trip Reports

This was my first Invasion. As usual I stressed over the planning trying to sculpt the ultimate
itinerary. Which with 6 other couples is stupid, but I can't help myself. So, one other couple was with us for my wife's birthday party at Tao last year, the other two had never set foot in a club before, but had been to Vegas a couple times. So no Virgins this trip.
Had a comp suite at Monte Carlo and got great rates for my friends so that was our homebase. Monte Carlo was fine, good location on the strip, food court saved us multiple times for late night survival meals before passing out. Probably won't stay again though, wasn't unhappy, but have other options.
Day 1
2 from our group flew out of a different city so 6 of us met up at the airport, a couple pre-flight drinks at the bar and we're boarded. We try to sit together (SW Flight) but that's not happening as the flight is totally full. A guy flying out with some buddies sits next to us, we chat it up, I buy a round, he buys a round, and on it goes, we land before we know it. Arrived Thursday afternoon at 3:00pm (major fail booking flights & missing Tao Beach)
My wife was hammered at this point. I should have had her back better on the plane, since we didn't eat anything.
Had a group of 8 (4 couples) arriving so booked an Escalade Limo from Presidential. Requested Sandra as our driver again.
As usual, everything smooth with Presidential airport transfer. Sandra asked if we needed to stop at a liquor store on the way.
Tipped her my usual $50 and asked for a CVS "a little out of the way" instead. Of course she was happy to oblige. Stop by CVS, snag the usual waters, vodka, beer, etc.
Back in the limo we make short work of 2 bottles of Champagne and crack open the vodka, pass my wife a drink (smh), as we take the long way to Monte Carlo. Check in was smooth, friends meet up in the suite for a few drinks while we figure out our plan of attack for the night. Drawing a blank here.....I think we went to eat something....oh yes. The Pub at Monte Carlo for happy hour.
Grabbed some sliders and fries, more drinks (I had a craft brew sampler with some killer IPA's), then we head back to our rooms to get ready for the night. Plan was pickup wristbands, hit Tao for an hour, then over to Tryst for bottles. When we get back to the room I finally realize my wife is in BAD shape. I encourage, she presses on and we grab a cab over to The Venetian.
On the way she gets really quiet...we arrive and she bolts for the nearest bathroom...not good. We go outside to grab some fresh air as the rest of our group arrives, she tries to rally, but is down for the count. Friends head in to Tao, I text Bobby we're a no-go, and we're on our way back to Monte Carlo. Dissappointed but not mad (I've been there before)...my first night comes to a close around 11:30pmLike all great travelers, I've seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen.

So day 1 was a bit of a fail...especially since Tao had a surprise open bar. Time for redemption...AGAIN
Day 2
Nursed my wife back to health with some Advil, Gatorade, and a big breakfast at the Monte Carlo Cafe (Had a B1G1 from MyVegas). Food here was good and cheap.
After breakfast got a little gambling in, some more fluids and she was good to go. The rest of our group was off doing their own thing so we headed over to Liquid for our first event of the weekend.
The party was in full swing when we got there at 2:30pm. We grabbed some drinks from the bar and headed up to the cabana that a group of forum members set up. They welcomed us with open arms (much appreciated).
Chappy bestowed some AOD dogtags upon us and we made the rounds meeting everyone. Way too many to try and list...but a star-studded cast of forum members for sure. There were probably 30 people or so at the cabana. Finished our drinks, went back to the bar for more and spotted Dnix at a daybed by the pool so stopped over for a minute and meet his crew and hang out. Another trip to bar and back up to the cabana.
The rest of our group came around 4:00 and joined up for some drinks and introductions. It was awesome meeting and partying with everyone from the forums. We had bottle service lined up at 1OAK that night and open bar at Chateau before that so we headed out around 5:00. There are some great pics and vids of the activities of the day, but AOD bylaws stipulate they not be shared publicly
Here's one I can share.

We headed back to the room to shower/nap/change and touched bases with Joey re: arrival time for 1OAK that night. Told him (half jokingly) that firing the confetti canon at 1OAK was #1 on my bucket list...he replied that he would see what he could do...but he did have a surprise in store for us
More on that later.
4 of our group had Zoomanity tickets for the early show they got from MyVegas so they did that while the rest of us grabbed a bite to eat at Il Fornaio, and Italian restaurant at NYNY. It was fine, did the job for being a random pick to lay down a good base for the night. From dinner we cabbed it over to Chateau for the open bar.
Arrived at Chateau just in time and I was the first person to walk in. Unfortunately we had no idea where we were going and by the time we figured out we needed to get in the elevators to go up to the open bar the lines were already long with fellow invaders. I checked in with Joey and he said they were SLAMMED so 4 of us broke off to get over to 1OAK for our table and the rest went up to the open bar on the rooftop.
(I think I got the order of events right here...had to look back on texts to piece some details together)
We arrive at 1OAK around 11:00, he spots us and lets us in straight away. Entry took all of 1 minute. My friend was blown away, especially considering the crowd out front. We head to our table on the dance floor (#39), order our bottles and get started. Shortly after we arrive OmarLittle and his crew fill in the table next to us. We get our bottles and start going at it.
Then I feel a tap on the sholder, it's Joey, with two CONFETTI CANONS! I probably screamed like a little school girl in excitement. Handed one to my buddy and started waiving them around like 4 year olds. Our security guard darts over and asks where the hell we got them. I tell him Joey gave them to us, he shrugs and walks over to a different area and turns his back. We wait for a drop and let 'em rip.

About then, 12:00 so my texts from the night tell me, the rest of my group says they're outside. They call Joey and they're in immediately. I realized one guy was missing, they said he went down for a nap at some point earlier and nobody could get ahold of him. We rage on without him. Said guys wife goes missing sometime around 2:00 from what I can gather from texts.
Joey stops by again to see how we are doing and I offer him a drink. But his hands are full. He had 1OAK "May Invasion 2013" shirts made! Gave us enough for our entire group, had a drink and hung out for bit. We rounded up our lady who was MIA, finish our bottles, and head out around 3:00 I think to go find our other missing soldier.
Sure enough, face down in the room there he lies. We wake him with a friendly dog pile and he asks if it's time to go to 1OAK...we break the news, grab some food and call it a night after some gambling. Day 2...mission accomplished.Last edited by Chuck; 05-22-2013, 07:26 PM.Like all great travelers, I've seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen.

Great TR, enjoyable read: I didn't want to post and break up the flow... but seems Jhaulotte has done that damage
EastCoast: "I will preach. Vegas is easy. So easy. Either be rich or good looking (or mooch off someone who is one of those). If you are neither, then sit back, let the rich and/or good looking people sort their shit out, and then take their scraps. Booking early is not going to get you ahead of the rich and/or good looking people. Sucks unless you are rich or good looking. But that's what makes Vegas so great. It is completely transparent."

Day 3 (Saturday)
Come to at around 9:00 I think and am surprised to not be terribly hungover. On the nightstand I notice two empty bottles of water and an empty bottle of Gatorade. Pat myself on the back for remembering to hydrate before passing out. My wife told me all that hydration had near disasterous consequences though at some point after I went to sleep. Inspected the room and verified no out of bounds urination had occured and got myself ready for the pool while my wife ran to grab us some breakfast from the waffle place downstairs. (Waffle spot was damn good by the way).
Had a comped VIP Canopy Daybed at the Monte Carlo pool that I had to claim by 10:00am so I went down with my friend that slept through the previous nights activities as he was anxious to get started. The location of the Daybed was perfect. Right on the edge of the wave pool where the DJ is setup. Came with two chairs on either side as well. There are only two available and typically carry a $750 minimum. Although I'm sure they'd entertain an offer for less.

(Two square beds in the center)
In the morning it was mostly families with kids, then at 12 the DJ came on and the crowd shifted almost immediately. I was pleasantly surprised at how much action there was and the quality of the crowd. Obviously not on the level you'd get at a major pool party, but not disappointing at all. There were dancing contest, etc. that all went down right on the edge of our spot, which I completely ignored since I'm married
My friends got to meet someone from Good Charlotte, which they were pretty excited about.

We killed countless buckets of beer, pitchers, nachos, etc. Raged in the pool, danced on the bed, and were all spent by around 4pm when the party started to slow down. Can't remember the name of the DJ but he did well keeping the party going with a good open format mix. If you feel like trying out a pool party but feel intimidated by the major parties this would be a good one to try out.

Our group split up Saturday night, but was pretty low key for everyone after going hard at the pool all day. We gambled a bit, then met up at Ignite with two other people from our group for a couple drinks, more gambling, and called it a night. This couple was leaving the next morning so we said our farewells and hit the sack.Like all great travelers, I've seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen.
