Official 2013 Jackify Invasions Trip Reports

Sunday was the best day of the trip...should have it up tomorrow. I'm never going to live down the MC pool am I?

Day 4 (Sunday)

Slept in a bit on Sunday then headed over to NYNY to redeem a $75 Sporting House credit from MyVegas for lunch. Meet up with another couple from our group and head in for some lunch. Place was smaller than I expected, but a good spot to watch games and the food was pretty good. The four of us had tickets for the Billboard Music Awards so we headed back to get ready for that after lunch.

While getting ready I took inventory of my remaining cash. Much to my surprise I found signifantly more than expected. Still have no idea how that happened but definitely good news. Texted friends, bottles at XS were in order. Shoot Bobby a text asking if he can set us up...done. Nightswim is on for closing festivities.

We headed over to MGM around 2:00 as doors opened at 3:30. On the way while sitting at a stop light we got some laughs from a guy dressed in a Spider Man suit hiding behind a construction pillar jumping out at people as they walked by. Honestly surpised this guy didn't get kicked in the nuts...was funny to watch tho.

Anyway, arrived at MGM and was quite surprised when we walked in. Looked completely different than the last time we were there (probably about 5 years ago). Was quite impressed with the refresh. Thought about giving it a look for another trip. We found our way to the Arena and still had some time to kill so some gambling and drinks were in order.

Entry time came, security was an absolute joke, more show than anything I think. The award show was a great time. Prince fucking killed it, that guy is truly amazing. There were some great performances and the production/stage were impressive. It really was a great experience. We're attending again next year assuming mAyOD lines up again.

Exiting was rediculous...6 doors for 10,000 people...stupid. Took forever. As we are leaving I get a call from Bobby, hard to hear in the mob but make out that the owners decided to open inside at XS and the DJ would be facing inside. Tables are in chaos...

As we exit I direct our group towards Signature knowing the cab lines at MGM will be crazy. Haven't made the treck before so hoping for the best in going the opposite direction of the mob. Come to the pool...shit. Spot an MGM employee standing by the entrance who suggests we go out the back way and head over to Hilton Grand Vacation or whatever it is to grab a cab. Pure gold! 10 minute walk, hop cab back to hotel to get ready for Nightswim.

XS is slammed so Bobby suggests we get there by 10:20. Instruct cab to take back streets and we're there in time to grab a sandwich at the cafe (only ate a salad all day which would have spelled disaster for sure). We arrive at XS at 10:20, text Bobby once in the table room and are wisked past the crowd within a few minutes. Land at a backwall inside table (25 as I recall) order up some bottles and get started. AODers have a few tables outside so my friend and I break away to go mingle for a bit.

Up until this point I had yet to meet SuperMod Aria. As we approach the AOD area I spot a blonde head poking out from beneath a mound of towels...lol...it's Aria. It was a bit chilly that night so was glad I opted for the inside table, sucked we weren't closer to the AOD crew though. Hugs, cheers, handshakes, and some chats we head back to our wives at the table. The infamous Joey Orr was coming to join us after looking after some JCers at The Bank that night. Two bottles down, he arrives shortly before Afrojack hits the decks.

More bottles, rounds of shots, some AODers pop by, dance dance dance. We're all wrecked and sometime around 3am decide it's time to go.

But we have about 1/2 bottle of vodka left and some Champagne. Rather than do the smart thing and ask our server to transport the bottles to our friends outside I decide to do it myself. I make it just out the doors and raise the bottles in victory...security taps me on the shoulder...damn...back to the table.

We head out and are making our way through the casino floor and my wife bumps into a lady. One of those awkward bumps when you basically hold the other person's hand by accident. We all laugh it off and keep walking. Then I hear the guy she's with say something...I recognize that voice. It's Nassau...hadn't had the chance to meet him yet so stop and have a quick chat.

Briefly consider heading over to Hakkasan but remember our flight in the morning so head back to Monte Carlo for some much needed Pizza. Best pizza I've ever had We hit the sack and the meat wagon comes sooner than we'd like.

All-in-all a great trip...one of the best. The AOD crew were all great and it was awesome finally meeting (mostly) everyone. My friends are already asking about next year Already counting down the days! Thanks Jack!

Great TR Chuck...you sure managed to cram a lot into the trip! I'm still too depressed being back in wet and grey London to bring myself to it!
