I would appreciate any information on the Cosmopolitan sandwich-ie- upgrade success or not. May have a medical conference there in a few months would love to know whether to even try.....
I feel sorry for people who don't drink, when they get up in the morning, that's best they're gonna feel all day!

im checking in tommarow have a terrace one bedroom + reserved for 2 nights, going to sandwich probaly 20$ or maybe 50$ and ask for wraparound terrace suite.

ill let you know how it goes...

side question: anyone that has alot of experience doing this, has it ever happened where the clerk just took your money and gave u nothing? i know one time i tried this the clerk just rejected me and said sorry i cant take this and gave the cash back.

I've done the sandwich a few times. If they don't have upgrades or sometimes even when they do, they'll give the money back.

                        (a) it always helps to know what to ask for when you try the sandwich trick. Look at the hotel website before you go and when you slide them the cash, ask them specifically for the rooms/suites you are looking for

                        (b) They always give the money back if they don't help you out.

                        (c) You do feel like a dipshit for about 2 seconds when you get turned down (after all, nobody likes rejection). However, you literally have nothing to lose by asking, and its always worth it when you get a nice upgrade.

I know this post is old but I didn't want to start the exact same thread. We are staying @ Cosmo in August arriving on a Sunday the 12th. We are getting three Terrace Studio rooms and there will be 6 of us. From my understanding the "2 Queen" rooms they offer come in the City Room and Terrace Studio only. Because they only offer these formats in the two rooms types above my reason for tipping then becomes high floor and good view, correct??

Secondly, because we have three rooms and there is 6 of us I figured anywhere from 50-100 for the tip. Any other thoughts???
