    Hi all,

Flying into Vegas from UK on 22nd to 29th June, 7 days. Flying in alone and meeting some friends who are travelling.

Sooo my flights are quite expensive, and as its 7 days (weekly flights from Scotland) need some decent/not to expensive digs?

Cosmo/Wynn etc to expensive for the 7 days, saw TI cheap, across the road from Encore/Wynn or any other ideas? Also looking for half decent pool area if possible.

Hi mate, there are lots of coupon / discount codes around online that you can get - sometimes up to 50% off.

Take a look here - http://www.smartervegas.com/hotels.aspx If there is a big conference in town over your dates, you might also be able to sneak in on their discount group bookings.

You haven't given us an exact budget and whether you'll be sharing or alone in your room - but anyway, to answer your question directly - Planet Hollywood is a good choice if you want a younger party crowd.

You're not gonna spend that much time in your hotel room anyway.

If you are neither, then sit back, let the rich and/or good looking people sort their shit out, and then take their scraps. Booking early is not going to get you ahead of the rich and/or good looking people. Sucks unless you are rich or good looking. But that's what makes Vegas so great. It is completely transparent."

I seen PH, pool doesn't look great though!. Budget will be around $1,100 for the 7 days.

I will be staying on my own, seems rooms are just as cheap if you split with someone!

What about the mirage for a young crowd?

The standard hotel pools aren't anything too exciting - but Cosmo, Wynn and MGM probably have the best regular ones.

Go to a proper pool party instead - Encore Beach Club / Marquee Dayclub / Wet Republic etc That's something you don't get in Scotland.

EDIT: With MGM, you might be able to get into Wet Republic on a Friday with your room key. There are conflicting reports on whether this works. I am pretty sure you can go to Marquee Dayclub on a Friday with your room key.

          Hey mate,

Just a small headsup for Europeans (Dutchie here)... If you find a deal, remember you will have to add 12% tax + 32.48 (resort fee) for every single night. So your budget is around 775 / 800$.

I've been looking for decent deals (smarter vegas + mycheapvegas cover a lot) and it also pays off to switch hotels halfway the week (so 3 days at property X + 4 days property Z). Wynn doesn't really have offers mentioned on those website, but if you sign up for their free program (wynn insider) you might find some deals. However for the amount of money you wrote above you should aim for Mirage + Planet Hollywood. I fancy Mirage more than PH for numerous of reaons. Most lads over here are writing for a weekend stay, however there are plenty of differences on what you want to do. As you are not local and im quite sure you want to send some text via Wifi, some properties only allow one device with free wifi others might give you unlimited.

According to the rooms you cant really make huge mistakes, just do some more research about certain propoperties you might consider booking and also use the 20-dollar trick (google that one) for a slight better room when you are staying a week.

If you need any help or advise, do not hesitate to pm.

//edit, just noticed your edit. Mirage is a good choice

Usually booking directly through the hotel is the lowest rate especially when combined with a coupon code.

Switching hotels can be really good advice. It seems like something few people do, but for a long trip it almost certainly will save money. Vegas hotel pricing is so variable that each hotel sets the price of their rooms based on complex algorithms of expected demand for each and every day, so it's rare for one hotel to be the best deal throughout an entire week. Plus you get the added benefit of experiencing different locations along the strip, and have 2 chances to end up in a great room.

I'm going to put in another vote for the MGM Grand. It's one of the better pool options for Tuesday and Wednesday when there really aren't any pool parties, and then you have Wet Republic open Thursday - Monday. It also has the largest selection of restaurants and Hakkasan nightclub all in one property.

Ideal, good advice. Is TI generally out then? Location was the main factor. Might look into MGM Monday - Wed/Thur then move further North to finish the week!.

Haha! Scotland is roasting in June, too warm infact, the reason I am coming to Vegas!

                Have you booked flights already?

If not have a look on expedia or BA as you might be able to get better value for money on a flight + hotel deal.

Also, agree with others you can't go wrong with MGM.

From what i heard TI is not bad, but with a 100$ (75 quids) difference at max, I would know how to have a better time in Vegas . Just try to read into Vegas tips with do's and dont's, it will give you a huge headup and can def give you hundreds of advantages. Besides that it kills some extra days before you actually board a plane towards Vegas.

About Expedia as mentioned above, they have some "decent deals", however with the promo codes you are more than 97% of the times out cheaper compared to Expedia.

TI essentially only has location going for it, and that only matters if you plan on walking to places often. It doesn't have a party pool, it doesn't have a club, and it doesn't have any notable shows or restaurants. Usually who I see going to TI is groups of young people who want to go across the street to Tao or to Wynn/Encore and are trying to save some money. It's a place to sleep near some good things, but really if you can afford it it's a lot easier to stay someplace that you can just go to the pool or club without stepping off the property and then cabbing to places when you want more variety.

That still doesn't mean you shouldn't stay there though. There are only so many hotels that actually have good party pools and clubs onsite. If Wynn/Encore and the Cosmopolitan are out of your budget then going with TI isn't necessarily a bad call. The other similar option is Planet Hollywood, nothing too special about the property on it's own, but it's right across the street from the Cosmopolitan, giving somewhat convenient access to Marquee.

Bare with me, but I will suggest the Linq. I know it has a bad reputation from when it was IP, but since it got rebranded it has made major strides and is actually opening up a brand new pool area this month. It's location is great, in the middle of the strip, with plenty of new spots (restaurants, bars, Brooklyn Bowl, etc.) right nearby. And the most important thing at this very moment it's only going to run you less than $450 for the whole week (plus resort fee but all hotels charge that and you could try to get it waived by using the $20 trick). The money you save can be used on plenty of other better things in Vegas.

The one caveat is that not all rooms have been updated yet so your room might be a little dated, but then again how much time do you really spend awake in your room.

Another option for lower budget is Flamingo. Same location as Linq (right next door), cheap, with a decent enough pool area.

As someone who has stayed at the Imperial Palace and then the Quad I wouldn't touch the property until it's fully done being renovated. Flamingo on the other hand is a place I could recommend if you were looking to go even less expensive than TI or Planet Hollywood.

Can't speak for the Linq but the Flamingo can be a good time and definitely isn't going to break your bank. If you don't care about the rooms (quite basic but whatever) then i'd even venture to say on the days that your not hitting a pool party etc. you can have a pretty decent time at the Flamingo pool. Crowd there is just full of people looking to have a good time not a lot of pretention there.
