  • Question about Venetian

    Hey guys!

I'm thinking about staying at the Bella suites at the Venetian for my Friday-Sunday trip in April. The plan would be 5-6 people per suite (I know max occupancy is 4).

Because we're fitting more than max occupancy, I had a few questions.

    1. Has anyone done this before? Assuming we're all cool sharing the bathroom, is the room generally big enough? It definitely looks big enough, 2 people per queen size bed and 1-2 people on a pull out couch.

    2. Is it easy to get extra keys at the Venetian? Can you ask for them when you check in or do you have to say you lost your keys? If it's the latter, will they deactivate your old keys when you ask for replacement keys?

    3. I hear there's security on the elevators, is this generally a issue if you're not being a total idiot?

    4. And finally, what's the crowd like that usually stays at the Venetian? I heard that the Palazzo is fancier and less for partying. We're all in our mid 20s so we'd definitely be partying and probably wouldn't want to stay at a hotel where our neighbors would quickly file a noise complaint.

    Thanks for your insight guys!

I've stayed at the Venetian twice. It's a nice, big room. If your guys are not too picky, you can fit two on the couch, plus share the queen beds. We didn't get everyone a key, we always walked around in groups. Security was checking keys by the elevator both times when I stayed. I went in the summer and didn't really see a lot of families staying there. A lot of women, young people, or older couples. I don't think anyone would file a noise complaint unless you go crazy.

I always tend to stay here when I go to vegas. Never had any problem whatsoever. There is plenty of room for 6 people if you share the beds, even more if you would like. Some of the rooms have a L shaped couch where you can pull out the bed and still have a couch on the other side.
Very easy to get keys there. You just go to the front desk and show them your ID if you are on the reservation. You can even call and add someone else's name to the reservation so they can get a key. They don't care how many keys you ask for and you can always come back for more. I asked for 4 when I checked in, and I gave them out and came back later and said I lost my keys and for a few more. I could keep coming back if I wanted to. The keys don't get deactivated.
Yes there is security so you need a key to go up the elevators. But it isn't an issue. I've brought 20+ people up at the same time before. as long as you have at least 1 key youre fine.

Thanks for all the insight! You can just call and add someone to the reservation? Wouldn't that up the cost though?

Also, in order to request connecting suites, do you need to have 1 person book both suites? Or can you give the hotel your friends name and request that your suites are connected?

          Hey zero!

          1. I love the Venetian/Palazzo for large groups and have stayed in the Bella Suites plenty of times with as little as 4 people and as many as 13 (I won't get into the details of how that happened)...

Last year, there were 7 of us and we fit 2-3 girls on each queen bed and 1-2 girls on the sofa. There is PLENTY of room in the Bella Suites and not once did we feel cramped (even with all our luggage explosions, makeup, booze, etc.).

I've also stayed with groups of guys and comfortably slept 2 guys on each bed and 2 guys in the sofa area. At 720 square feet, you'll never have space issues with a group of 6.

          2. Very easy to get keys. They'll never question you or how many people you add to the reservation at check-in. I would start with 4 keys and ask for more the next time you go through the lobby.

          3. You are definitely required to have a room key for security to get to the elevators. The guards aren't jerks and you can walk through with any amount of people but at least 1 person MUST have a key.

          4. We stay at the Palazzo and are also in our mid-20s and NEVER had a problem with security/noise. Both the hotels are connected so there isn't a real difference between the two except that the Palazzo rooms are newer.

          Tips:
You can call room service to bring more bedding to make the sofa bed more comfortable!
$20 tip-trick can get you an easy free upgrade to Bella Suite with a view of the strip (totally worth it)

Wow 13! the bathroom must've gotten a little cramped by then haha.

When you guys say add people to the reservation, can you add people even if you already have 4 people on the reservation? I thought max occupancy was 4 so I feel like adding more after that wouldn't be legal. Does the price change if you add people too? When I look online, it costs more to book if you say you have 4 people versus 3.

If you try to add more than 4 they'll charge you, or not let you. Add as many people you are willing to pay for... Then you have the flexibility of these other people getting extra keys, not just you.

I wouldn't add more than three people to the room reservation to avoid any issues or additional charges. You can still get more than three keys by just saying you lost the first round of keys and I haven't ever gotten questioned on that at any hotel in Vegas. The only thing is that only the people on the reservation can ask for more keys but that shouldn't be a big deal. The only time this would ever be an issue is if one of the people not on the reservation actually does lose their key and can't reach anyone of the others to get a key. Then they are locked out until they do reach someone with a key but it's Vegas so there is plenty to do while waiting for your friends :-).

Stayed there once with like 8 people in the room I originally got 4 keys then went down a few hours later to get more from the front desk, I didn't notice any additional charges also when I do that I put the do not disturb sign up so no maids come in or anything. I would make reservations for 2 and then add like 3-4 people max to the room. Last time the guy at the attendant just said hide some of the luggage in the closest or something in case someone does come in.

Make the reservation for 2 people. At check-in, get a feel for the person checking you in. From there:
                    1. Use the $20 trick to kindly ask if there are any upgrades available for a strip view room.
                    2. Ask for 3-4 keys, grab the rest later
                    3. If you want, add names to your reservation that will be allowed to get a key without you there (you can also say they're visitors if you're worried) but as previously mentioned, I've NEVER had issues with extra charges, etc.
                    4. Always tip housekeeping for the mess and to keep them happy. Everyone wins.

6 dudes in one room is horrifying. If I had a vote then I would say stay at PH and get 2 rooms.

Something that I don't think anyone has brought up yet is that you can always have people get rooms using Hotel Tonight if they need more space or privacy. You could start with 6 people in a room but if one of the guys pulls a girl at the club, they can just get their own room somewhere else at a relatively reasonable price. This allows you to save money for the guys who aren't particularly lucky and gives some flexibility to the guys lucky enough to need their own room.

Thanks for the advice everyone! It'd actually be a mix of guys and girls in the room, but honestly, I'm more worried about the girls cause of the single bathroom haha. I planned on leaving the Do Not Disturb sign up and tipping house keeping when we left.

Besides getting a strip view, are there any other upgrades available if you initially book a bella suite? Should you use the 20 dollar trick to get connecting suites or is that something you can request when you book?

Thanks again for all the advice everyone!

I always sneak more than 4 per room and never get caught. Here's what you do.

                            1. Have 4 people check in. Make the the others stay away. Ask for 4 keys.
                            2. Go in and out of the elevators separately in order to pass through security.

Yeah, asking for 5 or 6 keys is a dead give-away. Don't do it. If you follow the above you should be good.
