  • Booking through MLife

So I recently booked a room at MGM Grand with one my offers of a complimentary night, but going through the booking process they never asked for a deposit or my CC info and everything is suppose to be paid upon check-in.

Anyone ever experience anything like this? I don't wanna show up to the front desk and not have a room.

I've booked a few times online and it has always asked.

Beginning of July I tried to book a room at Aria and it would error out. Called Mlife, booked over phone, didnt ask for CC, showed up and everything was fine.

Monday I tried to book using an offer online, didn't work again with a different error. Called and gave the offer code, booked over phone, they DID ask for a CC and I put a deposit down.

Yeah it went through and everything, I even got a confirmation. I was just a little skeptical since the room rate was so cheap.

Oh yeah when you booked by the phone did they give you a total for the room? And was that the same amount you paid when you arrived?

MLIFE website can be a little tricky sometimes.

You can book a room as an itinerary which allows you to "kind of" lock in that rate.

        Scenario 1

In january I had to book two rooms for march. I booked an Aria suite right away and got a killer price but i needed a room for saturday since we only had suite friday. I had saved a couple different rooms as itinerary waiting to see who would want in saturday. When the time came to book the price had gone up $100 which was a lot for guys with me. Right as I was about to book the room I saw i had like 6 itineraries saved. I opened them up and found the same room but "saved" from 3 months ago with the killer price. Booked it and bam successful.

In April i needed to book my room for July. I locked in a killer rate using the same technique. I kept checking every day to make sure it was there. At one point the room disappeared but after a day of logging in and out it came back (weird). When i tried to book it once I had confirmation from friends attending, it gave me the error "Deposit amount does not = charged amount" I couldn't get past the error and i knew it was on their end. I called the hotel and ended up getting a different rate but still good (i complained a bit). I wasn't using a code but i think i paid $1066 instead of like $950 for the room. I am not sure if I spoke to aria hotel or Mlife but i called the MLife # first and might have been transferred to Aria reservations.

On monday I got a killer discount code and wanted to book a room for MGM. I tried to book it and it kept giving me another lame java script error which i couldnt bypass. I called MLIFE services, gave them the code and said I wanted to book it right now. They transferred me around a bit and i got some special reservations thing for MGM. Gave them code, said i wanted room for what nights, gave CC info and got charged deposit. I feel way more comfortable with the deposit charged since i am booking one of only a few rooms at MGM. You should be fine though.

Worst case is that you show up and they give you a comparable or better room. Just complain a bunch in a nice way.

Thanks for all the reassurance, I'm normally loyal to Total Rewards so MLife is all new to me haha, but figured since I'm going for a fight weekend I mind as well stay at MGM and had 1 night comped. As long as they give me a room I'll be cool haha.

FYI i can never get the comp night thing to work online.

another dumb thing - when i make new reservation online it ties it to my old reservations so it shows I have these crazy high bills from combining all the room nights.

I have booked through the site before and it has never asked me to pay. If you got a confirmation number I am sure it's all good. You can call to confirm with your res # if you really want to

I always book my comp nights through the MLife website and it never asks me for a credit card number so you should be fine. I think it did up until a few years ago or whenever it was that they redid the website, but ever since then I've never had to enter one when booking.

I'm not sure about when your comped days are compared to how many days you're staying, but they only ask for a cc if the 1st night isn't comped. Trip I just booked I have 4 comped nights at mirage but staying 5. The first night is cheapest so that's the one they didn't comp resulting in me Having to give a cc.

Well the promo was one night free and I'm staying for 2 nights assuming they're charging me for the Saturday night since rates are higher than Friday.

If your first night is comped, they won't ask for a deposit, that's how Mlife reservations agent explained it to me last week. Going to Vegas in a week and made a reservation at MGM over the phone thru Mlife and my first night is comped so they didn't ask for a deposit or a credit card.

i once booked a Free 2 night Comp on Mlife that was sunday to thursday but the Dates showed it started on a friday. mlife website let me book a friday-saturday free comp! i knew it was a computer glitch but didnt bother to look into till i was checking in. The agent wouldnt let me check in but since the website allowed it and the manager had to approve it since it had a confirmation code. I guess i lucked out. so yah the website is really crazy

i have another trip in november where i have booked the one room suite for 160 a night! insane good deal on mlife. I checked back time to time and that same nights run 230-300 a night.
