  • Circus Circus Vs Stratosphere

Hey folks, new here so be gentle!!

Two couples flying in from the UK via Minessota for a wedding from 11th March to 18th March. Has two very similar quotes from Circus Circus & Stratosphere. So lets say we are defo going to book one of these. We are mainly in Vegas to party so thinking Circus Circus might too family orientated! Read some reviews about stratosphere being too far up the Strip in not such a great area! Not sure what to believe mind you! Advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Cheers!

If those are really the only two choices you have then I'd go with Circus Circus only for the location (still not really that great). What are the factors limiting you to those two options? If cost, then I'd look at The Quad or Excalibur....might not be any nicer than Strat or CC but great locations for the same price.

Mainly cost, well more so that we can get them fairly cheap (we can get two rooms for about $700). We'd usually go for a nicer place but we have a wedding in Minnesota which is hitting us pretty hard.

You think The Quad or Excalibur would be better suited to couples? Ie not families everywhere! (Not that I have anything against families!!)

Oh and thanks for the response!

Stratosphere > Circus Circus. But honestly both are not very good choices IMO. They're both in bad locations, and that's one reason you found them cheaper. You'll end up paying a lot more than usual in cab fare.

If you're looking to save money on the hotel, you should instead consider Flamingo, Ballys, Luxor, Excalibur. Much better location on the strip and nicer hotels. Cost might be a bit higher (although you might find a good promo) but it'll even out with the cab fare you'll save.

By the way, I'll be there on the 17th celebrating St. Patty's Day/my birthday

          Thanks Vater!

Found Royal Resort for a similar price, any views on there? Location etc?

Quad is a dump. Don't bother there. Excalibur is good if you get one of the remodeled rooms. I would also check harrahs or flamingo. No resort fees.

Nice - much better property and location! Make sure you try the "$20 sandwich" when you check in to get an upgraded room!

Yeah actually the "contemporary" rooms at the excal aren't bad and there's quite a few deals that you can find with those rooms too

I think you'd actually ahve to pay me to stay at Strat or Circus Circus. Seriously.

I have stayed at the stratosphere like 8 years ago. It wasn't a bad hotel. But I ended up paying just as much in taxi fare as I would have if I stayed somewhere better.

Actually messed up the dates so to get what I wanted Flamingo was quite a bit dearer. Got 2 suites in Polo Towers for practically the same price (with the correct dates this time) reviews seem decent, I think they are more serviced apartments rather than a hotel, but actually that kind of suits us!!

Polo Towers is a good spot...never stayed there, but I had a friend who did and spent some time in the room. Only drawback is there's no casino on the property, but there are plenty of places nearby to gamble. Much better choice than CC or Strat!
