  • Cash stolen from room safe in Cosmo

Just wanted to give a heads up what happened to me last night, I'm currenty here at the Cosmo and we came back to our hotel room safe not working and my buddy called up concierge to have someone help us, while I headed to the pizza place to grab food my buddy waited for them and he came down to meet up after they were done we came back to the room and my 1200 in hundreds was replaced with single dollar bills.

Some shady shit guys never coming back here again. Called their managers and were filling out incident reports till 6 am and now waiting to see what they do.

anyone ever been through a situation like this, I'm just curious if we should be reporting this to the LVPD also so this isn't swept under the rug here.

I have never heard of such a thing. None of the maids or whomever could get into the safe if they wanted to. This sounds awfully odd to me.

You left. then they came and fixed it. Then your buddy went down to meet up with you after they got done. You go back to the room and you find out the switcharoo?

My friend called them, he waited and was there while they helped him out, I was downstairs. He said they stood in front of it while asking him to verify what was in there, he made sure my envelope of cash was in there. He came to meet me after, and when we came back upstairs I grabbed the envelope with my cash in it to go do some gambling and instead of my large bills there were some singles from my tipping cash stuffed in there

Hmmmm. How trustful is your friend? Most crooks cant break into those safes Ocean's 11 style.

Was the envelope full of hundreds when they were fixing the safe?

Did your friend divulge the code to the guys fixing it?

Aren't there a ton of instances/stories where room safes got broken into/stolen from? I wouldn't be surprised if the workers had access to it via key/master code. I used to put my stash in there, now I just dont pull too heavily on my marker, and leave daily amounts if I need to go somewhere without a lot of cash. I don't see how it would hurt reporting it to LVPD. Realistically, I dont see the COMSO coughing up 1200. You know they're going to weigh every possibility - including where the guest made it up. I believe it happened - Good Luck with it

Thats why I always put my hundos in the bible. If im staying for like 3 days I always leave the "do not disturb" sign up when I leave, don't make much of a mess anyways don't need maids going through my stuff.

If you report it to the LVPD, Cosmo might take you more seriously. I would definitely report it.

You HAVE to report that. Get in on file and then LVPD can look at the history of how often that's happen there.

You can go ahead and report it but it's going to be hard. Biggest issue is that you're dealing with cash so it's all hearsay. Did everybody in the room have access to the safe?

Why didn't you stay in the room until it got opened? You could have checked the cash yourself then and there.

Managment can see who entered the room, all that info is stored. I would get them involved and have them run a log showing you the list in person. This might be a task because they might not want to admit or show they have this info but a little people skills, be friendly and they should work with you.

1200$, I wouldnt even trust myself in the room with the guy there. And anything can cause a problem with the safe, cell phone to close, a hiccup with the batts, etc can all cause it to reset so dont think the issue and missing money have to be related.
