  • how to get Cosmo cheap

I haven't tried this yet but I thought I'd pass this along.

I found this in the TripAdvisor forum:

(BTW Cosmo is owned by Marriott - news to me)

    Talking about deals on Cosmo:

"Check the Marriott website and see if the rate is more expensive than Expedia. If it is, you can do a claim form since Marriott has a "best rate guarantee". They will match the price and give you an additional 25% off. I just did this by booking the Marriott, finding the cheaper rate on expedia for my 3 nights and filling out the claim form. They get back to you within 24 hours. It worked great... we saved quite a bit of money! (I even emailed them again when I found an even cheaper rate on tripres.com and they reduced it again!)"
    Cosmo
3/08 - Haze, Bank, Pure, Drais
    3/09 - Palms or Marquee
    3/10 - GBDC, 311 Day @ MGM
    3/11 - 311 Day @ MGM
    3/12 - sleep

Yeah, the "Look No Further" guarantee. I've used it at other Marriott properties. The trick to using it is that the deal you find has to be basically an exact match to what's offered on Marriott.com. If Expedia is pre-pay and Marriott is not, it's not a match. If one includes breakfast and the other doesn't, it's not a match, and so on.

Cosmo isn't owned by Marriott but they're associated with Marriott as a Autograph Collection hotel, so you can earn Marriott points there, book it on Marriott.com (which is where the guarantee comes in), and they extend some benefits to Marriott Rewards Platinum members (but not Gold/Silver, and not the "standard" Marriott benefits).

So do you think they won't honor it if expedia has a 3 night get the 4th night free deal (as does Cosmo's website) ?

I guess worse comes to worst - I could just cancel and get my deposit back.

Over on Flyertalk (a frequent flyer and similar programs forum) there are several people reporting success in using the 4 for 3 program to get a LNF rate, so give it a shot!

WOW. it worked. I just submitted the claim form and I got the city room for 4 nights for a total of $526.00 including taxes. Thurs-Monday. Marriott's website originally said $935.00

If the $20 trick works to upgrade to a studio terrace 2 queens then i'll be sitting pretty. Might just be pushing my luck - Happy birthday to me!

              Nice, congrats.

Give the sandwich a shot; what do you have to lose? They'll know you're on a LNF rate at checkin, and there have been reports of occasional staff grumpiness at the cheap LNF rate at normal Marriotts, but chances are the clerk isn't going to care, and as a casino they deal with discounted/comp'ed rates all the time.

Thanks for the tip! I just booked my group! it comes out to be $4 more then us staying at the Monte Carlo (One night at Hotel 32 included on that). Here is to hoping we get a decent deal with the sandwich trick since we come in late Wed night.

Yes, you have to make the reservation by phone or online with Marriott first. Then do the claim form.

They told me that they will charge the full reservation amount at booking. Is that correct for those of you that have booked?

I was only charged a $240 deposit on my initial $935 stay. After the claim form they reduced my stay and also did not charge for anthything else. Still the same initial $240 deposit.

Maybe they have changed this to deter ppl from booking this way? I booked online.
