  • So are there options if ur NOT an edm fan?!

Seems like any club or place that doesn't play edm is frowned upon or the 'crowd' is talked about. I know there has to be some NICE spots that doesn't play all edm. clubs, pool parties etc. anyone have a clue what they are? coming on a weekend in Oct. thurs-Mon.
    TIA

Drais regularly has Hip Hop acts on the weekends, check their calendar for your specific dates. Drais still gives you that big time club feel like an XS or Hak.
1OAK, the Bank, Tryst, Tao will all play open format, just check your specific nights to make sure on the DJ.

EDM has become so mainstream these days and the top clubs are capitalizing on it. Honestly most "EDM" sets these days include about 40% top 40 and hip hop anyway, just remixed. I think the reason you get the impression the non-edm clubs are frowned upon on these forums is because the majority of posters on these forums are guys, and guys want to go where the hot girls are. The hot girls usually flock to the high end clubs, which are all playing EDM these days. The other spots aren't bad places, just older and don't have some of the bells and whistles the newer places do (Drais is the exception, its newer). Truthfully its also more expensive to party at the higher end places, my experience has been this typically draws a little more mature crowd (don't kill me on this one, just my observation).

I am in Vegas almost once a month now so i find myself in the same predicament, i can tolerate EDM but much prefer hip-hop or open format if i'm trying to enjoy myself. Definitely look at Drai's right now it's the perfect mix of hip-hop and open format (again depending on the DJ as mentioned in previous posts). Also, on nights when they have their "resident" performers it's a really good time. For awhile it was Chris Brown, but i believe THE WEEKEND has replaced him. Check out Omnia it's a CRAZY venue, more specifically Heart Of Omnia, which has some great D.J's spinning some really good hip hop some nights (i went around the time it first opened and Quest Love did an AMAZING set). Tryst has Jermaine Dupri a decent amount of time and i have seen him twice and definitely reminded me of parties here in NY back when hip hop reigned in all the clubs. Good nights. 1Oak is always the old standby and honestly i'll agree it doesn't have the wow factor of the major clubs, it's just a place to have a good time without caring about all that, but when you just want to hear good hip hop and have a crowd that's there for the same thing, that really doesn't matter to me some nights. And to the original poster yup knew what you were alluding to with regards to the references to the 'crowd' of hip hop specific venues,it's been pointed out in the past by other forum members. Lol.

I usually escort Marc to the hip hop clubs. He gets nervous going by himself.

I think this post sums it up best. I cosign all of Brooklyn Marc's recommendations.

It almost never fails for one reason or another if the timing permits we end up at Tryst. We've NEVER had a bad time either. Always a solid choice IMHO.

Actually, it only takes one drink to get me loaded. Trouble is, I can't remember if it's the thirteenth or fourteenth.

A good friend would bail you out of jail, but your best friend would be the one sitting next to you saying, "damn that was awesome".

I live for the nights I can't remember with the people I'll never forget.

I know, I know, when I say this people will laugh and such but one of the best times I had was actually at Gold Diggers.

Started out as a hang out on Fremont for a low key night. Then they were handing out free entry passes outside of the Golden Nugget. Go upstairs to the club. Outside area looked over Fremont Street and did EDM, while inside was top 40 mashups and hip hop. Drink prices were cheaper, free entry, got a few rounds of free shots due to the tab I ran that night, wife and her 4 gf's were happy and I was in shorts and a t-shirt.

Yep...I was what they call slumming in Vegas that night....and if they gave me a coupon for a free buffet I would have used that too.

ME TOO!! We were about to call it night and they gave us drink tickets.. Ended up partying with the little people on little women LA. Made my TV debut... OR...... my legs did. Waiting for my SAG card..
Anyway, after a night I'm deaf and all I hear is bass anyway.

Out of necessity i find myself literally willing to go to any club that i haven't been to at this point so i gotta co-sign it's a good random ass time at gold diggers, i would NEVER stay on Fremont i don't think but i have had some legendary situations roaming around there at night on my recovery/chill nights.
