I've got a few basic q's for bottle service in LV. I'm planning to visit XS with my mates in March and have spoken to Bobby Yeadon who's been a legend so far but I've still got a few questions:

If you have a table, can you still walk around (to dancefloor toilet whatever) and leave your belongings unattended?

    What are runners in nightclubs?

When do you fix up the bill? Lets say you have 2 bottles vodka, $1300 all up. So it's 20% for waitress, 8% tax, $100-500 host "handshake", and security and runner tips on top... am i missing anything?

Am i right in thinking tables full of guys get attention from girls, who stay until you're tapped out, then leave?

I think that it, but I'm sure ill think of more

Thanks in advance! im getting pumped already

    1. You can, although I wouldn't advise it with valuables. This can depend on where your table is, though. If it's a high traffic area, you may want to be more cautious. If you have a table that has a little more separation you're a little safer.

    2. The guy who refills your ice bucket, re-stocks glassware, re-fills your mixers, etc. They do the dirty work but it's all the heavy lifting your waitress can't be bothered to do. Tip him $20 at the top of the night, and if he does a good job, $20 more at the end of the night. Treat him like a human being. Strike up a conversation, if you want. If you don't, your night will be miserable.

    3. You'll order enough to meet your minimum at the beginning. You don't have to receive all the alcohol right then, but once they have your order, they'll run your card for that amount (basically to see if you're good for it). They'll bring the receipt to show you, and you can close it then. I guess some people leave their tabs open, but I always close my tab to prevent any tomfoolery on either the club's part or my dumb ass friends. If I want more, I'll just give them my card again (or anyone else who wants to buy something).

About tipping: Just hand Bobby cash when you meet him. Doesn't have to be slick, or anything. Also, XS does NOT have auto grat. 20% is plenty though. That's all the waitresses expect. Need to figure out 20%? Take the pre-tax amount (or post-tax, if you're in a giving mood), move the decimal one place to the left and double that (example: $1300.00 --> $130.00 --> $260.00).

As for bottle rats, don't invite girls who are just hanging around the tables. I usually walk around and find girls hanging out away from the tables doing their own thing. They're much more appreciative, and will stick around.

that's perfect, thanks for your help!

$260 for a waitress pouring drinks, wowee.

What about security? Why should I tip them and how much? I've heard $20

        RE: Security

Similar to the runner. If you are in a high traffic area might want to double right at the start. If you build an instant relationship they will help get your people to the bathroom, dance floor, bring over the ladies, etc.

Security can make or break your night, so better to have them on your side early.

If i have mid-dance table I always throw security $60 at the beginning and tell my buds halfway through the night that if they want something cool to throw him another $20. I usually tell my friends to give him a $20 and ask him to bring those girls over or ask him to take them to the bathroom etc.

Great thread and answers for someone new to the LV club scene like myself. I'm assuming you Can you order, get your tab and just pay cash right there vs messing with credit cards?

Well, with credit cards you get the points.

I used to pay all in cash (collected from all the guys splitting) right at the front to close out tab but then realized I can just put it on my card and deposit cash next day.

If you pay cash they will make you hit the minimum with tax/grat added in after and collect all the money before they open the bottles.

Having $3000+ on you sometimes is a pain too. I had that all in 20's one time lol. Not smart.

Security has basically been non-existent my last couple trips to XS. I've even tipped them at the top of the night, then literally couldn't find them the rest of the night. The runner has been a better security guard than the actual security guards recently. It didn't used to be that way. I don't know what the deal is.

I had a dance floor table at LIGHT on 12/26 and paid the guy $120. Asked him to do nothing but try to get girls and keep any guys away and he did just that the entire 4-5 hours we were there. Scooped more girls than we could handle.

I had the same experience at XS.

Hmmm . . . security was "just right" for us at our last XS experience 12/28/13 (about 13 months ago). Like most things it is a gamble.

Best experience was Marquee in 2011. Late in the night after a few bottles we were chillin' by our couch (outdoor) and I was taking care of the staff (handing out $20's to anyone and everyone that helped make the night). A few minutes later a few girls are leaning on the outside of our couch. Solid 8-9s, in any-other situation I would have never turned them down.

                      Convo goes like this:
Security: "what do you want to do with them?"
Me: Scan my buddies and then ask security "what do you think?"
Security: Basically gives the Gladiator thumbs-down
Me: "get them out of here"

Boom. They were gone. About 5 min later security returns with vegas-10's who were actually chill and we finished off a great night.

+1 On Marquee security. I had an an outdoor table there last year with 2 guys (total), tipped security $20 for each group of girls he brought over... ended up out almost $200 but plenty to chat up. Also kept table free of poachers, etc. Great time!

Anyone sit at 735,740,745 or 860,865, 870 at XS? We have a 1 bottle min secured now and with the right shake could move to one of those.

Fri @ surrender we are set up with a two for deal just outside the main dance floor area.

I like them. The only downside is there isn't much room, so don't do it with a large group. Four or five people is fine though.
