My day after and after pool party routine: crackers, eggs, and a banana. I wash it down with my hangover cocktail: 1 packet of Drip Drop (basically powdered form of pedialyte) mixed with pedialyte and coconut water. If im still feeling nauseous I'll have a mineral water. Also Advil if needed for headaches. Then a cold shower.

I know everyone here says not to sleep after pool parties but I HAVE to get at least an hour or 2 or I'm a zombie at the club. My alarm is loud enough to wake the dead and I put it at the other side of the room so I have no choice but to get up, go over and shut it off. Once I do that I'm good.

After the nightclub just some crackers and water/pedialyte before passing out.

Before drinking: A very big meal. For me usually Italian, beef, chicken, or mexican. All of those if im at a buffet. I stay away from steak. For some reason it dosen't still well with me when I start to drink.

Matching 1 water with each drink while raging dosen't hurt either.

Also, take a Tylenol as soon as you get back to your room, it will eliminate the headache the next morning. And drink good stuff, not the "house" brands! Hangovers SUCK! I'm 110lbs and can only have 1-2 drinks per night without dying the next day.

Oh, I get Blowfish at Amazon but you can find it at drugstores too.
This is a very important and sometimes overlooked point.

I appreciate your straight offered advice. Wonderful tone.

My goal was to get people to see some of the fallacies when treating a hangover. Some of the options offered are considered medically, dangerous advice.

What am I supposed to do? Just let people offer done advice which is damaging to others?

You are probably still young enough where you think you know more than your dad, or think his advice is outdated. Let me offer this, listen to your Dad a bit more, and know this...he's been right the whole time. You're just too young enough to get it yet.

Have a great summer and be safe!
Been to Vegas too many times to count, partied in too many pools and clubs to track, but when you live so close, why wouldn't you?

You would be very susceptible to heat exhaustion or heat stroke, which could be fatal. Your body will have a decreased ability to keep itself cool when you are already dehydrated. Your body's internal temperature would rise, causing flushed skins, headache, n/v, increased heart and respiratory rates, and an electrolyte imbalance which can lead to abnormal or fatal heart dysrythmias.

If you find yourself in the Vegas sun and hear, and your body is not producing sweat to cool itself off, you need to get out of the sun immediately.

Stay out of the Vegas heat/sun when overly dehydrated or seriously hungover until you can replenish some of your list fluids.

Surprisingly, this happens at pool parties a lot. Going out in a seriously hungover state, consuming more alcohol without proper re-hydration, with a prolonged exposure to the sun and heat leaves many patrons suffering from beginning effects of heat exhaustion, even when at a pool party.

The IV method of hydration is really good, in the sense it offers normal saline right to your vascular system, avoiding the patient from having to "choke down" the water by mouth, where it could be difficult if the patient has chronic n/v. The ERs typically use a "banana bag" which is one liter of normal saline, that is mixed with vitamins, thiamine, mag sulfate, etc. That is truly the hangover cure by offering the fluid and vitamin/electrolyte replacement the body needs, delivering right to the vascular system.

That doc who offers that IV bus cure is really on to something. It really is the best method.
This is what i think too.

It is the most efficient way of getting back to "normal" or actually feeling better than before.

If you are going to party for 4/5 straight days... I still dont think that anything would work better than the IV option. Yes its a little expensive per se... but I would rather factor in a trip or two here and get me in tip top shape to solider on.

I am looking at it every 2 days. Given alcohol, change in climate change in timezones etc.. i will have enogh to battle with... that this will be a saviour for me when i make my way there in the morning )

Heard of blowfish too. Will give it a try memorial weekend. From what I hear its along the same lines as alka seltzer AM and Bayer AM which were both discontinued.

I wonder if those Pedialyte juice boxes for kids work for adults. Or the freezer pops? Those would be perfect for Vegas summer!

a lot of adults on twitter say they use them and they work. some even mix pedialyte with alcohol. maybe its equal to taking water after each drink and saving yourself some time lol

These are good tips...Ive always heard the Pedialyte is the way to hydrate....Ive taken NOHO before and it has worked but $5 seem to be kind of steep for small shots....Pedialyte would be the better option it seems for the money

Crackers and lots of water. Or my personal preference, a Chipotle burrito

Or drink untill late (6-7 am) so you're still drunk when you wake up at 11 and you don't have hangover (or at least won't feel it)

Then mix powerade and vodka and you're ready for the pool party !

My go to solution for hangovers/excessive drinking:

Grab yourself a bottle of B12 supplements and Milk Thistle capsules. The B12 will boost your red blood cells (the ones that carry oxygen from your lungs to your organs) and the Milk Thistle will kick your liver function in to high gear (helps in metastasizing the alcohol). One of each before your start to party, then one of each every 3 hours of drinking. Pop a couple of each before you crash with a biiiig glass of water and you should only need hydration in the morning.

Make sure your whole crew follows this regimen otherwise they will hate how perky you'll be in the morning relative to them!
