The main aim for this bill was EDC and the Bill never passed- the NV legislature means biennial- every two years.
That being said all the clubs this year 2014 seem to be charging an extra 10% LET on presale tickets and Hak and Light are adding LET on tables

To me LET on tables is ridiculous and the fact that it is a cost forwarded directly to the consumer is even more-so. We are already paying 500+ for each bottle on average and then in addition paying 20% in service fees (auto-gratuity) and then another 8% in state/local taxes turning a $500 bottle into $640 bottle.

Tacking on an additional 10% is absolutely nuts, which then turns that $500 bottle, that was already beefed up to $640, to $690. Crazy. It is a slap in the face.

I get that Vegas is a city of excess and that money talks, but c'mon.

I think a lot of this is aimed at taxing the rich. If you can afford to come to Vegas and pop bottles, you can pay the 10% and if you're popping bottles = you're the rich. That's the back drop mentality from the politicians in Nevada. I personally think it's insane along with Auto Grat. Don't get me started....

Yeah Auto-Grat is nuts. I'm getting married next month and they are charging 20% auto-grat/service fees on 25k when there are already line items for services provided like Valet, Catering, Coordination, etc. It's crazy and just one big money grab. To top it off, after we are charged this 20%, our venue told us tipping is discretionary and that the 20% service fees don't account for gratuity lol.

Businesses should 1) incorporate these costs into the prices and 2) have gratuity be at clients own accord.

Can you provide any updates on if auto grats will be phased out, and how it will be handled going forward? I assume it'll be morphed into a service charge of some sort?

No (not in my experience and that is maybe 10 club visits with auto grat)

Yes, it does happen.

Usually happens more at the lower min tables. They'll be around for the first couple pours then you'll be lucky to flag them down for the check afterwards....

I find find the higher the mins the better the service. They're more apt to hang around the table more and party with you at those tables....

Or it could really just depend on the waitress you have that night and how much she respects/enjoys her job...just like any other service oriented spot!

I tell my buddies that they are under no circumstance to pour their own drinks or anyone else's for that matter. That only the waitress can pour drinks. Why? Cause I am not paying for bottle rats to drink my booze. It's that simple.
