  • Club Questions/Help for Weekend after CES: Thursday 1/9 - Saturday 1/11

Going to Vegas for CES on Thursday and staying for the weekend.

We're a group of 3 guys (all 22 years old), and were wondering what clubs to hit Thurs, Fri, and Sat.

We prefer Hip-Hop over EDM so we're considering 1OAK and Tryst, but not sure which night is best and what other clubs are good.

This is my 2nd trip to vegas and my friends 1st trip, so we're all pretty new to the vegas club scene so any suggestions or tips like what time to arrive, how much we're looking to pay, pre-sales, etc. are appreciated.

We're college students so we don't plan on getting bottle service any night.

    Thanks!

CES will be busy, and you can't trust that the clubs will stick to their usual formats due to special events. Tao, 1Oak, Tryst and the Ling Ling room at Hakkasan seem to be up your alley.

Get pre-sale tickets and arrive early, before 11, and you should be fine. The ticket prices should be pretty standard.

Thanks for your reply! Do you have any suggestions on which night to hit each of those clubs? We were thinking TAO Thursday, 1OAK Friday and Tryst Saturday. We are planning to stay at Caesars Palace, is PURE any good or is it just EDM? The only reason I ask is because I've heard you can get specials for clubs at the hotel you stay at. Thanks again!

I don't really know about Hotel specials and i wouldnt even rely on them. If you don't regularly go to Vegas then suck it up and drop a few 20's to get where you want to go. Not like you can't go home the next week and just save on lunch/dinner a few days to make your $ back.

I would buy either presale tickets and show up early and already prepared to party or find a promoter/host to get you in. Pay the presale price to someone and maybe an additional $10-20 and skip the lines, go in and have fun.

I have never really been to any clubs in Vegas and November 8th I gave my buddy $80 (he asked for $60) and he put my date and I on his list and walked us past the line at XS at 11:15 pm. Didn't have to wait for anything and felt like a boss.

Drink hard beforehand and pound a few shots right before you go in because without a table and a well planned night you will be crying the next morning looking at all those receipts at the bar.

Ah ok, the only reason I ask is because I figured Thursday might be a "slow" day and we should just try and save some money, not sure if we're right in assuming that, but yeah I feel ya. Thanks for the advice, I definitely plan on pre-gaming a lot and tipping if necessary to avoid lines!

Anyone else have advice on which days are best for the clubs mentioned?

There aren't really any slow nights during CES due to all of the convention goers partying/entertaining at night. You're plan is pretty solid, but again you have time before the events for that week are announced. Things didn't finalize until the week before at some clubs last year.

You mention Tryst. You may want to hit up Bobby to see about a guest list since getting a table is out of the question.

Before you say no to a table take a look at the link Bobby put up regarding the winter months special he has at Tryst. May be an option, not sure if it is honored since you are going to CES and I don't know what your budget is per night:

If you haven't looked already here's the link to the hosts at the clubs so you can possibly inquire about guest lists:

Thanks for the heads up Kp3205! I'll talk to my friends and see if they're down! A few questions though, The deal I saw was 2 Bottles grey goose for $450. Do you have a rough estimate of how much it would be after tips/taxes? Is there a minimum purchase per group of people? like could we do this deal with 4 people? or is 3 people the limit before we have to get another bottle? And do we get kicked off the table if all of our bottles are empty? Sorry for all the questions, don't want to go for bottle service and end up with any surprises on the bill haha

Also, we ended up booking The Cosmopolitan with the cyber Monday deal they had. Does anyone have any input on the Boom Box Room at Marquee? Would you choose it over Tryst, Tao, or 1OAK (Based on Hip-Hop music)?

I wouldn't do the Boom Box on a Thursday normally, but Marquee might have the whole club open that night.

4 people is fine with this deal. 20% auto gratuity ($90), 8% sales tax ($36), $150 to Bobby (our group does $100 per bottle but we have 8-10 peeps and commit to larger mins but bigger tip means better location), $25 busboy and $50 bouncer. So all in $801/$267 per person for 3 peeps, $200.25 for 4 peeps with nothing else bought the entire night.

You're paying for the real estate. If you don't mind standing around the whole night and you want to save then this wouldn't be the right deal. It all depends on budget. If you go this route get the cash from everyone before you set up the deal. They all bring cash to gamble and if you don't collect up front you'll get the "I'll get you next week just cover me for now" response and they'll be at the bj table chasing dreams with said cash.

Kinar 100 makes a good suggestion about pregaming to reduce cost but again you'll be standing the whole night.

If you pregame or plan on walking the strip I suggest you sign up at vons.com for a free membership. You can drink on the strip, why pay $5 or more for a can of beer while walking or $10+ for a mixed drink when you can make them in the room? Place your food, liquor, snacks order to have delivered to the hotel. First delivery is free and you set the 1-2 hour time frame you want it delivered. Did this in July and for $20 the guy brought it up to the room. From what I read they meet in the lobby and drop off so I offered the tip and asked if he could bring it to the room. Best $150 the wife and I spent. She had her Malibu, trail mix, etc.

Split the cost of a fridge, usually $25/day or bring a cooler, big pastic mugs if driving or buy a foam cooler when you get there. Cold beer, juices, sodas, waters, etc the whole trip in the room is a beautiful thing and ice is free out of the machine.

                        Hope this helps.

kp3205: thanks for all that info! But I talked to my friends and they aren't really down to spend so much in one night. It's their first time clubbing in vegas so they want to get a feel for it first. And i'm from Cali, so I'm gonna stock up on alcohol before I head out haha, not tryna spend too much on overpriced alcohol, even got a flask for when I'm out and about on the strip.

No worries and know what you mean.

On 2 trips our group has done the pub crawls, more newbies than vets, where they have free drinks on the bus while you bounce around and see 3 or 4 clubs for an hour each. Gave the newbies a feel for what the clubs can be like and allowed them to go home talking about all the places they went to.

It let's them see more for less and if you pre game also you're not spending much at all. Only downsides are you stay for a set time at each club until you go to your final club of the night where the crawl ends and there are no tier 1 clubs.

Just a thought if you want to max out the number of clubs 1 night and pick a tier 1 club for the 2nd night.

ok so clubs have released the dj's for after new years. We were thinking of doing 1oak on Friday for DJ Eric Forbes, and tryst on saturday for Jermaine Dupri. Any comments on their DJ sets? Saturday at 1oak is DJ Que, and at Tryst doesn't have anyone listed for friday. TAO is having Justin Credible on friday and Vice on saturday. Any comments on these Dj's or other suggestions is appreciated. Again we're looking for more hip hop music than EDM. Thanks!
