I cant wait to see when the Hotel Gansevoort opens up with the new remodel and see the new DRAIS open up.

I hope it will live up to the hype with how they plan to do the rooftop pool and club plus the reopen of the original Drais afterhours space at the lower floor. It'll be nice to have something new in the center of the strip again.

If you guys havent heard, the plans was a dayclub/pool on the roof. The main club would also be rooftop and the pool area would open up during the warmer months. Afterhours will be back at the original location. A new Giada's restaurant is to open up on the corner facing the intersection. Rooms are all getting renovated to have a boutique European feel since there are only under 200 rooms.

Pretty exciting lol. but I can hear some of the complaints now from Flamingo hotel visitors on how loud the club is late at night. I would assume parking would be a bitch too. There isnt much space in that area so Taxis would probably be crazy too. People would have to walk over to Flamingo or Ballys to catch a cab.

Don't get me wrong, I've stayed at that spot and it's real nice (as far as location on the strip per price), but something's gotta be wrong if it's had 3 names in less than 8 years.

but expanded Drais s ounds nice? How has it been over in Bally's?

Its a whole new concept all together so I would think that would be the best move for this property with renaming it. And it was bought out by Gansevoort Hotels so of course they would redo the whole place to their standards and with their style and name.

I've seen pics of the Bills rooms before and they actually werent that bad. The windows kinda sucked cause theyre small but the rooms were renovated in a modern style with new furnishings and fixtures.

the renderings of the hotel rooms and the roof top pool/club look pretty awesome. when i stayed at bills i liked how it was a 2 minute walk and boom you are on center strip vs. a maze at some of the other larger hotels.

I'm also looking forward to the new Drai's and Gansevoort. I like the look of the renderings and Gansevoort has good properties here in NYC. I was at their rooftops a week or two back. Will certainly check out the place when completed. Hearing Mar or Apr '14.

Yup similar to the Drais Hollywood but on steroids haha. ya the renderings look like it has the same look but of course just way bigger. Suppose to be a total of 65,000 sq ft of space up there total.

two of the things i was looking forward to just got fucked. caesars was trying to build a casino in boston at a current horse racing track, and apparently due "russian mobster" ties with Gansevoort, they booted caesars from the plans for the casino... and then caesars just dropped gansevoort in LV too.
