Being a doorman or security at these venues comes with a lot of risk. It's the job of security and doormen to keep the club safe and escort out violent patrons, but the amount of alcohol flowing, bruised ego's, and questionable characters visiting these establishments really places them in a tough predicament. The doormen and security surely are not being paid enough to risk their lives at these kind of venues. Also feel bad for the patron who died while trying to intervene. I know for sure I wouldn't have done what he did, but damn people are jsut trying to have fun. Nobody should be killed over stupid shit.

Wow that's horrible. Nobody I know goes to Vegas looking for that kind of trouble, and even if there's a little drama it's resolved with shots or a drink. People travel there from around the world to have a good time, not get killed. The security and doormen have a dangerous job, and if your denied there's usually good reason, maybe your just too drunk to realize it at the moment. I'm no high roller or whatever, but I carry myself respectfully and like a gentleman, and NEVER had a problem with security. Some people just can't handle Vegas

I'm sure there is video which will never be seen. Here is what I think happened. (I wasn't there. I have no idea if this is how it went down).
Guy rolls up to a club at 5:30 am. Asks if it is busy and can he get a peak before he drops $30 to get in. Door tells him it's fun and they can't let him in without paying. (Which is probably the right move. Imagine trying to get your $30 after he is already inside).
Dude rolls inside and doesn't like what he sees. He comes outside and says "WTF? This place sucks? Why'd you lie? I want my motherfucking money back?"
Security sees a scene start to develop. A few of the biggest bouncers you have ever seen (There are some big mother f'ers in Vegas. I guess that D1 Football Scholarship didn't get you to the NFL) approach the guy and tell him to shut up.
He talks back a little and Andre The Giant and his boys start acting like they are gonna get rough with him.
Dude has been awake for 48 hours on "who knows what kind of pharmaceuticals" and he freaks out because he is paranoid and fucked up. Whips out his gun.
Bouncer says "What are you gonna do shoot me? I dare you. You ain't nothing but a scared bitch."
Bang. Shots fired and everything is all messed up.
How will this and the Pimp Shootout effect Vegas nightlife going forward?

I was never real big on after hours spots. its a bit of a diff crowd to me. esp the ones here in LA/Hollywood where booz is sold after hours illegally and people do lines of coke out in the open. I'm good with just the club esp in Vegas. Usually stay till 4am, sometimes a lil later. at that point I'm a zombie looking to get back to my room to hibernate. ill leave all the afterhours stuff to the youngsters haha.
