  • Newbie planning a bachelorette weekend 7/18-7/21

Newbie here trying to plan a Bachelorette weekend from 7/18 to 7/21 with 7-8 girls all in their mid-20's. The bride as well as a lot of the girls are still graduate students so budget is key. While I would love to do table service, it's been voted down so I am hoping to rely on getting on guest lists!

I have a loose itinerary over here but still have some logistical questions that I would love some help with:

Thursday 7/18 - 3 of us will be arriving a day early, Hakkasan

Friday 7/19 - planning on doing XS and maybe Surrender/Tryst afterwards <--- I see that there is no DJ listed for XS, will this make it easier to get on a guest list? I read that the host asks for Facebook pics to get on this list. Is this still true?

Saturday 7/20 - Thunder from Down Under (bride's request), dinner, and then clubs.
Clubs that I am looking at in order of preference: Hyde, Marquee, 1Oak, The Bank

I think we would definitely want to hit up more than one club this night but would like to start at either Hyde or Marquee. I'm concerned about getting on the guest list for Marquee because Kaskade is DJing that evening. Does anyone have their thoughts on how difficult this would be with 7-8 girls in tow?

Lastly I would love some insight on how people get around as a group to multiple venues (e.g. show, dinner, multiple clubs). For Saturday, I've chosen clubs that were sort of close to each other (with the exception of 1Oak) because I'm worried about a bunch of us girls in heels trying to walk everywhere. I've read a lot of people recommend Presidential Limousine for roundtrip services, but has anyone used them or any other services to go club hopping? I would especially love a lady's perspective on this that has tackled the heels issue.

Thanks in advance! This site and the forums have been awesome thus far in helping me prepare for this weekend.

Hey there! Sounds like a fun trip. In the past, I have found that trying to do more then one club in one night is VERY hard. Even if you are all beautiful ladies, once it gets to be past 12-1 or so, it's hard to even make your way to the front to meet a host. Unless you plan to get to a club at 10:30, stay for a drink or 2, then move on, I foresee this task being very hard with 7-8 ladies (we all know how that goes). As for Marquee, just walking into the club will make your feet hurt. It's like a 3-4 story walk on metal stairs, not even joking. My advice is to start somewhere and if you're having a good time stay. OR, start at a lounge at the same hotel THEN go to the hotels club later. That way you are seeing multiple locations.

I've only tried to club hop once and it went very bad, so I might be one sided. Any other advice would be appreciated....
    Dear Vegas,

it's been far too long! See you on July 10th - July 15th!

    XoXo,

    Brittany & Cristina

Hmmm well, I just had my bachelorette with 8 girls, and as far as getting around we did limos to get where we were going, and then took cabs back or walked, depending on where we were coming from.

I wouldn't personally plan on too much club hopping, corralling people to get from one property to another can put a damper on the mood (not to mention those cab or limo rides will add up, and I'd rather waste my money on drinks!). Hyde to Bank isn't bad at all, but if you're doing Thunder from Down Under, then dinner, you're getting out kind of late to do multiple things on Saturday night anyway. Maybe try going to something on the south end of the strip (so closer to Excalibur) that night?

As far as saving money- guest lists are pretty doable. And for dinner, I recommend any of the prix fixe menus LIght Group offers (lightgroup.com).

The furthest I walked was from the Cosmopolitan to the Venetian, but that was during the day in flats. In heels? The furthest we probably went was between the Bellagio and the Cosmopolitan. The New Yorkers (former and current) in the group were all fine, but if anyone isn't used to walking around in high heels- just be warned- those blocks are waaaaay longer than you think!
I'm not bitchy, I'm just drawn that way.

Thanks ladies for the advice! I've heard it looks very deceptive when casinos seem close because the casino themselves can be huge! I like the idea of doing a lounge/club in the same property a lot and will probably convince the girls to do that. This will definitely help if we get a limo because we can just do a round-trip from Excalibur to Bellagio if necessary.

Lily Bar to Bank (or Hyde, now that I think of it) is an extremely easy trip. That's the only lounge in Vegas I've spent more than ten minutes in, so I'm not a great point of reference, but we really enjoyed it.

If your staying at Excalibur I would hit Hak because its literally across the street.
                7/18 Hak guestlist
7/19 probably can get Hak guestlist again because sinclair not that big headliner-
Hak has two rooms- main room and hip hop. The hip hop room as big as some clubs.
7/20 Your probably not going to get guestlist for Kaskade because he is marquee's big headliner. Also Marquee tends to get really packed so unless your a huge fan and willing to deal with the crowd/ get presales or find some guys table to sit at might be worth a skip.

Also if you at Excalibur you might think about Light at Mandalay- you could literally walk there without going outside because Excalibur/luxor/mandalay are all connected.
Light has 7/19 Krewella and 7/20 bassjackers
A limo is going to be costly.

Agree with the other two posts club hopping is time consuming and a waste. For example most clubs open around 11pm with the headliner djs coming on around 1am. So you can't see two headliner djs at two clubs the same night unless you miss parts of each.

Agree on the club hopping, don't do that, especially on a Saturday.

Fri- XS isn't too hard and not a bad club to be at without a table since you can get away from the crowd and go outside

Sat- Marquee, go early, for just entry, I tend to think Marquee because it has more space to move around and chill if you're a group without a table. The main room is insanely packed but you have the outside pool area to get away and the two other rooms.

                  - On another note, there are some clubs that you can go to and get cheap bottle service or even a comp for girls (if cute). Maybe think about that, sometimes it's better going somewhere that you will be taken care of and be comfortable vs going to the hot spot and being in a sardine can all night. Or just get your bottle rat game on point...

We're actually staying at Aria so heading all the way down to Mandalay Bay seems a bit far. Man, that's an awesome line-up too....I don' think they've posted it on the website, but I've heard Krewella does an awesome set.

And I totally would prefer to be more comfortable than to be in a packed club...I personally love Kaskade but am not sure if any of the other girls even know who he is so its probably not worth it!

I think everyone has successfully convinced me not to club hop so I'm glad I put that question out there. Thanks

Cab ride from Aria to Mandalay is less than 10 bucks and no traffic, ever, not even holidays. Secret cabbies don't want you to know. There's a tunnel that goes from Aria to Monte Carlo and then from there can you hit Frank Sinatra. Take that to the mandalay parking garage and Light is right there when you enter from there.... Boom! You can use that route to hit Excal, Lux, Mandalay, CH3, anything down that side of the strip.

I see no pool parties in your line-up

Personally, I would rather hit the pool parties than the nightclubs if I had to choose.

Very true about the cabs- we got from Cosmopolitan to Mandalay in approximately 7 minutes while were there. And if you're doing Thunder from Down Under, you'll be at the Excalibur, which is either a short ride OR semi-annoying walk (I'm a New Yorker at heart, so my sense of what's a reasonable walk is skewed, so someone else please jump in here). And really, I can't imagine there being a terrible line for cabs at Excalibur.

Yes, don't be fooled! Walking to a neighbor casino is farther than it looks. People will tell you that it's very fast (mostly men), but it sucks when you're in heels. You don't want to be all sweaty either since it's super hot. Once you do all that walking, there will be a lot of standing & dancing. There is only so much my feet can take.

+1 on the walking - it seems like a great idea to save a few bucks, but walking around every cuts down on party time. Just IMO.

Also, those dates happen to fall on the Jack Colton July Invasion dates - if you're interested in meeting up with other forum members (whether or not you purchase invasion wristbands), join the Groupme discussion - see my sig for the link.
