Planning to do an outdoor table there next Saturday night. Will report back.
Yep...in no way do I expect, or want, an XS/Omnia/Hakk/Light experience when I go here.
Like all great travelers, I've seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen.

That's not bad to want a different experience, I just feel like if they are going to offer less production value than those places and not be paying huge sums to DJs, they can't charge XS prices for long.

Best way to keep it more exclusive and curate the crowd is with high prices and a tight rope. That's the plan here from what I understand. Hotter crowd and less bachelor party groups. Quality over volume.

No no no, the hype was not that it would compete with Omnia/XS - in fact it was the exact opposite, namely that it would draw a different crowd and have a different experience. Seriously, go read the press release and marketing mats - Intrigue was put forth as a conceptually new and different, alternative nightclub experience. If this place was supposed to be Tryst with new furniture, I wouldn't be complaining about it. Of course, this means you'll be OK with it when you go next Saturday, and I'm glad about that.

You should have gone Thursday. The crowd was not exclusive, not hotter, and definitely not less bachelor party type (that's why I was particularly amused by the suggestion that some press and industry insiders didn't get invites, because they were not at all exclusive with who they let in). More damning is that the mood they set, especially with staff outfits and gogo dancers, was not exclusive at all. Maybe they can change the exclusivity feel on revenue nights, but as I mentioned previously, they also didn't show us anything that could possibly draw a more exclusive crowd that will spend. I certainly won't.

Will be interesting to see how it plays out...that's just what I've been told they're going for. Time will tell...

That's exactly what I was saying though, for so some reason they completely stopped caring about Thursday, they stopped even selling tickets to it a week prior. All the advertising changed from Intrigue Coming April 28th to Intrigue Grand Opening April 29th. Someone in the marketing department or above decided Thursday was not a priority in the slightest and put the big push with celebrity invites to Friday. So judging Thursday as what the entire club is going to be seems like a mistake, although I don't necessarily think judging how it went Friday is much of a better plan. Ultimately it will take take a few weeks of normal operations to see what they are wanting to do with the place.

Right now with no-name DJs, high prices, and nothing particularly unique going on I understand the complaints. If that's the long term plan I have no idea what market they think they are going to get, but it will definitely be exclusive in that no one will want to go.

Ya, I am not closing the book on the place yet, Wynn does not have a long history of failed ventures. Definitely seems like some mistakes have been made early on, but its been one weekend.

I did however think it was interesting that they promoted Kate Hudson as one of their big grand opening celebrity attendees, but later that night there was a tweet with her in a pic in the booth with Dillon Francis at EBC at Night. Seems like she felt the need to switch clubs at some point.

The Grand Opening also had Grandtheft as the main DJ, not someone I would call no-name at all, but I assume that isn't the caliber of DJ they'll have on a non-Grand Opening Friday night.

That's one thing that I feel Wynn has completely missed an opportunity with. I used to love going to The Palms and switching between Rain, Moon, and Ghostbar, all with one stamp. If they sold a nightly $50-100 all access wristband with entry to XS, Intrigue, and Surrender with an expedited entry line for each they'd have something no other property could compete with. That would have given Intrigue as an option for people who tire of the packed dance floor at XS halfway through the night, and allow them to get away with a cheaper DJ without people thinking what did I just spend $45 on.

reports online that Rihanna stopped by after her concert and was with Leo in the "vip room"

Seems like what they are aiming for- a nightclub with a "vip" room with no cameras where high profile people can be at a nightclub but not photographed

So why bother with Thursday at all then? And why would they not push the VIP/industry invites for Thursday back to Friday? Given what actually happened, what you're saying makes no sense.

You mean a lackluster Thursday, and a much more well received Friday? I haven't personally read any specific complaints about Friday, and why would there be with Grandtheft DJing and celebrities everywhere?

Like I'm just saying I was watching their social media accounts closely and there was a defined shift in which day was more important. Early marketing was all about 4/28, it was on all the posters and ads, and then around 4/19 they changed their Wynn Social schedule from just 4/29 Intrigue Fridays to 4/29 Grand Opening, and then all posters and marketing material posted after that highlighted Grand Opening 4/29.

I assume what happened is someone came to their senses and decided Thursday isn't a great night for the opening of a new club so they pivoted to it being more of a soft opening trial run, I'm not saying any of this is a good sign, or reasonable, I'm just saying it seems pretty clear that by around 10 days out Thursday wasn't the priority for whatever reason.

I always liked Tryst. There was nothing wrong with Tryst. Why did they even feel the need to change it!
