Does anyone know anything about intrigue? What kind of layout will it have, will it have big name DJs?

  • #2
Intrigue is doing the exact opposite of everyone else. They know Edm and big name DJs are dying so they are positioning the club to be "where the cool people go"

From what I've heard, it is going to be more anti big name DJ, and focus on being a super exclusive lounge type of experience. I guess of a more Miami-ish type spot??
Yeah I'm the shit...I should have febreeze on me!

They definitely aren't focusing on the DJ, but I'm not sure how accurate the Miami-ish comparison is going to be. $30 presale tickets and how large Tryst was leads me to believe exclusive isn't really going to be how Intrigue operates. My understanding is that Intrigue holds somewhere around 1200 people like Tryst before it, and their anti-social media room in the basement only holds around 120, so while that room might end up treated as a super exclusive lounge, they've got the other 90% of people they have to entertain upstairs.

From what I've read, their ad campaign, and a bit of reading between the lines, it seems like it's going to be closer to The Act or the early days of Rose. Rabbit. Lie. They are talking a lot about potential live performer opportunities, a unique and varying decor, and the fact that they don't want the DJ to be a focal point. They flat out said they don't want to be the next The Act or Rose. Rabbit. Lie. because both those venues failed, but saying they don't want to be those was pretty telling that those are perhaps the best comparable venues to what they are trying to create.

So while Intrigue likely won't have any big name DJs, I have no idea what style of music they are going to try for. The Act and Rose. Rabbit. Lie. both had decent open format DJs playing both contemporary EDM and R&B with a heavy dose of 90s nostalgia that seemed to work well with the crowds. Really my understanding was both venues failed more because of management issues than an inability to bring in a crowds, with The Act seeming completely packed the 2 times I went.

Luckily the mystery ends 4/28, or at least soon after once they've established what exactly we're to expect from Intrigue.

It won't be anything like act or rose rabbit lie intrigue is going back to the service and throwing a good party making sure the guests have an amazing experience at our venue. Intrigue music will be top 40 with different themes through out the club every month. A more exclusive venue with a nice view of the tryst waterfall. The venue only holds 1200 people with 67 tables and a private invite only members club inside of the venue with no social media allowed in that room, feel free to contact me if you have any more questions.

Huh, weird how again they deny it being anything like The Act or Rose. Rabbit. Lie. and then talk about the music being top 40 which is exactly what they both played, and then talking about exclusivity but the club still has a staggering capacity and low priced presale tickets. I loved The Act and Rose. Rabbit. Lie., those were 2 of the most unique venues in town and they should be aspiring to be as good as they were not trying to distance themselves from them. If anything all these denials are making me hopeful that Intrigue will have some of the flair that made those 2 previous venues so unique, and not just be Tryst 2.0.

That's pretty disappointing really. If the plan really is just a more exclusive Tryst and nothing more unique I feel like that's going to go over pretty poorly. From the interviews of the creative team they hired I was hoping for more. I haven't stepped foot in Tryst for years because they stopped having DJs like Manufactured Superstars who knew how to get a crowd to have a good time. I was excited to possibly check out Intrigue in July but if the plan is to make it all about an exclusive basement room and focus purely on bottle service my group of 16 won't be showing up.

Now they've increased ticket pricing to $45 Thursday-Saturday, $57.77 after taxes and fees. That's a good way to get more exclusive and by exclusive I mean completely empty, especially when XS is cheaper on a regular basis. I'll wait until the reviews come in but Tryst 2.0 definitely doesn't cut it at those prices.

I always thought they were going more for Fluxx in San Diego done Vegas style. Imagine something like Light or Marquee themes done bigger and all over the club.

This pricing listed is actually incorrect. The main Dancefloor starts at $10,000 and tiers down through the club based on size/location. I'm not sure why or when that was listed on wynn social, however I did double check and they are updated to the correct pricing structure we set as a management/host staff. Also, keep in mind customers who book thru the site are considered a "web submission" which do not get any special or personal attention from a host until maybe the night of as they arrive to the club. Therefore which most everyone here in the forums knows its best to go through a direct host. I will be listed soon as the direct host contact for Intrigue, or as well feel free to use whom your comfortable with. The club will have 54 tables total, which is less then what Tryst had. The concept is completely different. Our production value of the club will be similar but more advanced then Omnia's main room. Yes that is not an understatement either, I promise you. the only thing people will recognize is the waterfall, which that as well will have added production which I cannot disclose just yet. We will have an open format style/pop music, this does not mean we will not have large artists, but we are aiming towards up and comers sort of like when we discovered and signed Diplo, and look at him now! Performances are also a possibility, but our marketing concept will be a bit different, but I ensure you we will not disappoint. Lastly, the comparison to Rose Rabbit Lie or the Act, is incorrect. Our DJ and party will never "stop" for any production or special events or " acts" so to speak. I don't think I missed anything without giving away too much information, but hopefully this helped clear some questions or concerns of the new venue being " Tryst 2.0"... that I guarantee will be the last thing on peoples minds once entering Intrigue. I'll try to keep eye on this thread if I can assist in anymore information. Hope this helped! #RoadToIntrigue
