What is the competition for XS/Marquee?

The last few times I visited Vegas, every time I had to decide which tier 1 club to hit it was between XS and Marquee. Those are also the usual suggestions for the "mega" club experience here on JC. What other club competes on that same level? Is that what Hakkasan is trying to do?

Hakkasan and Light are both going to be big clubs trying to compete on that level. Tao is still up there as well.

Forgot about Tao, and I think I've been there more than any single place over the years (like 3 or 4 times...not saying much I guess). Still, 3? Out of something like 5 billion clubs? The list of tier 2's seems endless.

I remember the old Light...I never got in. That was before I knew how to dress...and before JC taught me how to all but guarantee entry!

From what I'm hearing LIGHT is going to be an amazing venue...nothing "official" has been released yet, but sounds exciting.
And with Hakkasans "unlimited" construction budget I'm sure it will be a crazy venue as well.

As of right now nowhere else is on the level of XS and Marquee in terms of club size, set up, big name DJs, crowd etc. With that said some of my best nights have been at places like Jet

But nightlife is a fickle business. Pure and Tao used to be the top dogs, then XS opened and raised the bar and seemed like it be unstoppable and then Marquee came and raised the bar even higher.

I will definitely give any new place a shot if it sounds like they are doing it big

Id argue that Surrender makes a good run at those two. Place is always packed.. talent is always good.. and the dj line up is typically solid. Ive enjoyed both their summer "open air" format as well as the giant canopy/tent thing.. neither seems to affect the crowd

Surrender is cool but I don't think it's quite on that level.

Give someone their choice of DJ and no budget and most would choose XS or Marquee over any other club for that one night

Just the massive size and set up of those venues are hard to compete with.

This isn't to knock Surrender or any other good clubs. Especially when dance floor tables at XS and Marquee price a lot of folks out. And it's boring to go to the same clubs over and over.

Maybe its just me but i love when the dj is outside and everything is so open(which makes sense as to why I might like this place more since I hate Marquee's layout/small-closed-in-feel), and feel when it is open, it matches the size of marquee if marquee were merged into one big room

Hell yeah, you don't have to go to the top place to have a good time. Especially if you are just looking for women to interact with. I've had great times at all the tier two places on their busy nights. Call me crazy but every time I've gone to LAX on a wednesday I've had a great time. Jet was another great place I loved to hit up each trip. I think if you go to a lot of places finds ones you like.

There are also places I tend to avoid because I never have any luck with the ladies at them or the layout is odd or the doormen are just dicks....The Bank comes to mind.
