I'm thinking that you are recommending Hyde because it is a place where you can eat at 1st, and therefore avoid the cover. Also, as you mention, the ropes thing too. Are they a club, though?

What's with the sites that sell VIP tickets online?
You can go right to 1 OAK's site & make a reservation too. 1 Oak does look really awesome to me.
You can go online & purchase wristbands for the clubs too.

Don't you get in & not deal with the rope stuff (dress code permitting), if you have the wristbands, or whatever?

Hyde is a club on Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday starting at 10:30pm. Before 10:30pm you can just walk in like any other lounge, then you're already inside when it turns into a club. If you want a table during lounge hours to have a bite to eat and a drink then you can get one and sit there until around 10:15 or so at which time you'll be asked to vacate the table, or purchase bottle service for the club hours.

My last trip we went to Hyde on Friday night at around 9pm, got a table for 4, had some drinks and food, then went to 1OAK around 11pm. It was a great night...here's how to do it...

Contact Joey Orr at 1OAK, and ask him if you can get on the guest list for 1OAK Friday night. Ask him if $50 for the both of you will take care of line skip and cover for your husband (it should). Then have Anthony set you up a table at Hyde at 8:30pm Friday night, have a bite to eat, enjoy the fountains and some drinks, leave Hyde at 10:30 or 11:00 and head over to 1OAK. If you're really diggin' Hyde...then just stay there.

Here's the deal with "VIP" tickets...at the end of the day, ALL of the power lies at the guy working the rope. They really don't care if you bought a $10 "VIP" ticket online. They can refuse entry to anyone for any reason. Presale tickets are a different, more like a concert ticket, but you'll pay more for those.

I thought of that a couple years ago... pre invasion when the various weekend meetups were much smaller in nature... If I were to put my list post invasion era... We been to Vegas 4 times, this will be our 5th time, not a lot of experience on nightclubs, we have been to several lounges.
We actually arrive on Thursday night so we are looking at what to do that night also; HYDE looks good for Friday night based on the reviews and comments of other members.
This time we'll be staying at the Cosmo, we'll have a bottle of tequila (we are Mexicans) in our room to Pre-party!!

It can seem a little complicated. There pretty much need at least 1 of the following to make it easy.
1. Be very good looking.
2. Know somebody
3. Spend money (Don't need to be super wealthy, but $20, $50 or $100 will help you to avoid waiting in lines.) Nothing is "free" in Vegas. If you get put on a "list" for No-Cover, then you should tip somebody an amount slightly less than what the cover charge should have been.
