married, mid thirties, but still want to party!

My husband & I are in our mid thirties. We will be in Vegas Wed, 11/14 through Sun, 11/18th. We are not coming with friends, so it is just us. We want to party it up in the clubs 1 or 2 nights that we are there, but don't really know where we should go. We like top 40, hip hop, dance music. Recommendations & advice, please???

My wife and I really enjoyed Haze on Thursday without bottle service. Hyde is awesome to hang during lounge hours...good small plates too. 1OAK on Friday is great. Then when you're hooked you can check out Marquee on Saturday.

It depends on your budget and your taste in music. From what I read you're into what would be considered "open-format" (top 40, r&b/hip hop and mainstream EDM) For variety of music, either Pure, Marquee or 1OAK. For wow factor, Marquee or XS. I can't comment on Haze or Hyde (though I'd be interested in checking it out).

Just go to any club. You'll be fine anywhere. There's lots of people your age and married in the clubs.

Thanks for the advice guys. I made reservations at VooDoo Steak for Sat night, so decided we are going to hang out on the rooftop on Sat. I still want to go out on Friday too though. Someone mentioned budget, and we are budget conscious. Although, we do realize that it is Vegas too. I wonder if going down to Fremont Street one night would be good. I really don't know, though. Suggestions?

Does anybody know of anything going on in Vegas on Friday, 11/16th?

Someone mentioned budget, and we are budget conscious. Although, we do realize that it is Vegas too. I wonder if going down to Fremont Street one night would be good. I really don't know, though. Downtown for nightlife? I would not do that. I would stay on the strip. I am sure you can have fun at some bar downtown, but stick to the strip for any bar, lounge, or nightclub

Here's the thing with what you said, we came to Vegas once before a couple of years ago. It was a really short trip, though. I guess my username isn't 100% accurate. It's still really close. Maybe I should of used the name, "VegasSecondBaser." Hahahahaha!


Anyway, on this short trip we were on, there was someone that gave us passes for, The Bank. I got all dressed up for the club. We got there, and there wasn't a line at all. We stood at one of the velvet rope entrances, and the bouncers just stood there talking like we weren't even there. A group of girls came up, and they went over & let them in. A group of about 3 younger guys came up, and they went over & let them in. We just stood there like, WTF! Really, are we even standing here!?! They eventually came to us, and let us in. We then went to the cashier, gave her our passes, and she said they ended at Midnight. It was now 12:05, but remember, we were standing there being ignored. My husband ripped up the passes, and said, "the eff if I am dealing with these yuppies all night." He then threw the pieces at the bouncers & walked away. I feel like I should point out that my husband is not a hot tempered man. He is actually really laid back. He was pissed at this, though. I guess, in my one time experience, going to "any" club isn't an option. I want to do whatever I can to avoid being passed up, avoided, etc.... the way we were that night at, Bank. It was really quite humiliating for me!

Then I see the picture on here of farmer Joe, crazy mustache guy with his wife, and really feel humiliated! They let them in, but didn't want to let us in some place!?! Come on now! (props to that couple for still partying it up, btw)

Yeah I wouldn't go downtown for a night out. This sounds like a fun group...and that's my 32nd birthday...damn I wish we could make it down

Do you guys want to go to a nightclub or not? You can definitely have a great night on the strip (including a club) on a budget.
If you can give me an idea of your budget for Friday night (Dinner & Entertainment) I can tell you how I'd spend it.

Sat: VooDoo Steak is pretty pricey & dropped $240.00 last night for drink vouchers & cover to the rooftop.
Sunday: Dinner somewhere & front row tickets to see, O.
Friday nights budget needs to be reasonable, considering the details above. We don't need a table, or bottle service though. My husband is a beer guy, and I'm a Vodka/Red Bull & beer drinker.

That Bank story sucks...my group was denied once a long time ago before I knew the ropes. Go to Hyde on Friday night at like 8:00pm and get some small plates and drinks. Then you can stay when it turns off into a club without paying cover or dealing with security at the door. If you're not feeling it you can have a plan B at another club...but I'd get you in touch with a host first so you wouldn't have to deal with the issues at the rope. If you do some food and like 4 drinks at Hyde it would be like $100 plus tax and tips.

I'm thinking that you are recommending Hyde because it is a place where you can eat at 1st, and therefore avoid the cover. Also, as you mention, the ropes thing too. Are they a club, though?

What's with the sites that sell VIP tickets online?
You can go right to 1 OAK's site & make a reservation too. 1 Oak does look really awesome to me.
You can go online & purchase wristbands for the clubs too.

Don't you get in & not deal with the rope stuff (dress code permitting), if you have the wristbands, or whatever?
