UK Drivers License: Accepted/Recognised or Not ??

Quick question please for more Vegas Regulars,

Travelling over from London to Vegas in the Autumn, would like to know with regards to ID's (proof of age) if the United Kingdom Drivers License is an accepted ID, or if it is at all recognised?

The only reason I ask is, in other parts of the States that I have visited, my European ID which is perfectly legit, wasn't accepted (which is understandable).

Obviously we have Passports which we could use as an alternative, however we would prefer not to have to carry them around on us, not the sort of thing you would want to fall out of your pocket or go missing on a messy night out!!

I used my Aussie drivers license last year through the US and didn't have a problem

Never had a problem with an Aussie photo ID, so would assume you'd be all good.

I used my UK Drivers license a couple years ago and didn't have any problem. Should be fine.

100% UK driving driving license has worked in every club for me ( XS, Tryst, Surrender, vanity, Tao, Pure etc) the only club that rejected it was Prive, which is now Chateau! You'll be fine.

UK Drivers License is widely used and accepted in Vegas. Most doors are very familiar with it.

I have used a UK Licience to get into Moon, Rain, Ghostbar Voodoo lounge, Haze, Surrender, XS, Marquee Tryst, LAX, Cathouse, foundation room and Mix.

Not all on the same trip though

Just returned back from Vegas. Had a great time until last day when such thing disappointed me. For first three days I got access to clubs (Pure, Tao), parties, etc with my India/Trinidad driving licenses. On the final day I was denied entry at The Bank and XS saying my IDs are not valid and my passport is required.
It doesn't make sense for me to carry a document like passport to go to night clubs in case I loose it. The other thing I do not understand is my driving licenses give me rights to drive in the US for first few months, but the clubs call it invalid! Moreover, what is is the ID for at the Clubs, to cross check age; even looking at me no one question I am under 21!!

Working at a bar, learned that the Liquor Board, the governing body of liquor sales and liquor licenses, doesn't recognize foreign drivers licenses as a valid document for liquor sales. Why? No idea. I accept them most of the time and it doesn't matter if you look 10 or 100, it's just not recognized as a valid form of ID by the board. Common sense, if it looks legit, says you're over 21 and the ID isn't expired, you should be fine.

Are there any positive experiences with other european driver licenses?? (especially EU states)
i really don't want to go out with my passport.

also poolpartys will be a problem with passport. i just wanted to take CC, ID and cash (in a ziplock bag) with me.
if bag is leaky and cash and cards get wet, it won't be a problem, but if my passport gets wet i'm f***ed.

Take a colour photocopy of your passport as well as your license. Together you should be fine

Good to know! I've used a UK license in Miami and New York so assumed it would be ok
