Good to know! I've used a UK license in Miami and New York so assumed it would be ok
They're fine with it at bars/clubs - never had an issue. Although it can be a bit awkward when in the casino - I've found the dealer has to ask his pit boss to check it which they don't with the US licenses. Holds up the game a bit.

Strangely had trouble getting it accepted in San Diego as well, never had a problem elsewhere in the US.

Forgot to say - ensure your photo isn't expired on the license. The ID scanning machines in clubs will show it as expired if it has - and the door staff won't let you in.

If I remember correctly I believe Nailer had a problem using his Irish driver's license, but it only happened once during his trip. Vegas has a high rate of international travelers, most door men are familiar with international IDs but if it looks dodgy for whatever reason, a backup should be taken with you. It is better to have a backup than to be stuck at the door without a second form of ID. Photocopy your Passport and just use that as your primary identification with your license as backup. One international member lost his passport at Liquid, but it was returned to him before he knew it was gone.

Also I think there is a correlation between GA and international ID issues vs tables and little international ID issues.

I actually had a problem once at XS with my German ID when we did GA. Didn't want to go back to my hotel to get my passport so my friends and I decided to do bottle service and for some magical reason all of a sudden my ID was totally acceptable .

From then on I was carrying my passport around, which was a terrible idea as I promptly lost it when I left my jacket at Lavo in NYC one drunken night and it never turned up, so definitely won't do that anymore but will carry a photocopy of it with me next time in Vegas.

How strict are they on the doors for ID'ing people? Is it not worth leaving the ID at home or is it generally ok if you tend to look old enough.

I'd never bet on that - always take AT LEAST a colour photocopy of your passport. The casinos are governed pretty strictly re legal age.
EastCoast: "I will preach. Vegas is easy. So easy. Either be rich or good looking (or mooch off someone who is one of those). If you are neither, then sit back, let the rich and/or good looking people sort their shit out, and then take their scraps. Booking early is not going to get you ahead of the rich and/or good looking people. Sucks unless you are rich or good looking. But that's what makes Vegas so great. It is completely transparent."

I'm 36 and sadly look that old too and I still won't ever risk going to the club without an ID. Often they don't care how old you look, no ID no entry.
