I got quoted $130 from a VIP service for a 11:30 walk in for XS on a Monday night.

Is this a reasonable fee?

You should definitely not pay that just to get walked in the club at 11:30.

$50 a person is generally reasonable with most hosts. Any independent service is merely pocketing the rest to do what you can setup without them.

I keep hearing about people tipping the host and waiting in line with everyone until the host decides to let them in.

Is that not how it works on busy nights at the top clubs like yours?

Pre-sales are the cheapest way to go. There's usually a seperate lines for pre-sales and a short wait to get inside (As long as you show up at a decent time-10:30-11ish).

I'd say presales as well, if you are really worried about waiting in line show up when the club opens use your tickets get your wristbands/stamps and just leave go gamble/pregame more and come back later at night (12:30/1:00) and hop in the re-entry line where you will at most only have to wait a little bit to go back in

Presale for you and get your girl on the guestlist. thats the cheapest way. The most you'll pay is probably like $50 and if she has to pay, $30

1. If you get there before 11, its not that hard to get in. You'll wait maybe 10-15min? Is spending more money to get in 20min faster worth it to you?
2. Diplo is known but not big in the general public. The only time I'd be worried if it was someone with a name like Tiesto, Calvin Harris, etc.

I just went to Diplo last week for Mad Decent Monday and I bought a presale ticket for myself that was $30 and had ZERO wait. I got there a little early (10:45ish) but I'm telling you that by 1am when Diplo hit the decks there still wasn't much of a wait. And if you had presale there was no wait.

That was actually my first time at XS and I was pretty surprised to be honest. I thought it would be some huge lines with ridiculous waits, which is why I did the presale ticket and got there early.

Obviously I didn't have a host but I don't really care about that if I'm not doing a table and just want to see a DJ.

You dont HAVE to tip anyone, also the whole point of getting pre sales is so that you dont have to grease your way in.
