What to do once you land...

To save stopping the cab, is there anywhere near enough to Paris to just pop out and get stuff? I know there's a Walgreens in the Venetian (or used to be) but is there anywhere further south on the Strip?

If you are worried about saving money on the cab you are going to spend at least twice that on the inflated alcohol prices on the strip. I have yet to find a place that has consistently 'normal' prices.

There is also a Sam's club East of the airport. Takes a bit longer but if you are stocking up it could be a wise choice.

For those who ordered Vons delivery, did you meet them at the entrance, or did they deliver to your room?

Also, I checked for my upcoming trip last night, and you book a 1hour window for delivery, many daytime options available.

I found a good rate for a full size car with USAA... $40 and can drop it off right at the Cosmo the next morning.

Gotta hit a slot in the airport real quick just to get the juices flowing. Maybe even walk into the smoking room in the airport and and burn one just to do it. Let the toxic weekend begin.

Our usual travel day to vegas:

1. If you have a layover and/or want to be to the airport early - go to ebay and buy Delta Sky Club passes ... you don't need to be flying delta either, the sky club is awesome - most (check on website to confirm) have self service bars... as much as you want to drink when you want it. Also free food and WIFI, it makes layovers go much much faster.
*if I fly delta I buy their "have one on us" drink tickets on ebay too, you can usually pick up 20 for like $30 or something, much cheaper than buying them on the plane... managed to put down 12 beers on our last Detroit -> Vegas flight.... but having to piss that much on a plane sucks.

2. Land and get all of our bags - head out to the limo/cab area and if you have 3+ people, just get a limo/towncar, its cheaper, you get it for 60 mins+/- , more room for booze/food/etc. Head to Vons or Safeway for goodies - There is one off the strip like 2 miles on Tropicana.
... we usually have someone pack some booze in their carry one for the car/ride around the strip.

3. Get checked in, get the booze on ice and go nuts.

PH right next door has a cvs. Little more expensive but not too bad. There is alsi a cvs by City Center.
