Thoughts on 1OAK?

What does everyone think of 1OAK? Where's the best location for a table there? Any bad locations?

Trying to decide where to go MDW...don't see anything listed there for Sunday 5/27; anyone know if they have a special event or host?

I believe they have Nelly on Sunday. We're looking to go there Friday maybe, just waiting to see which performer or dj they have that night.

DJ Karma that Friday night I believe...I think they announced through Saturday. Didn't see anything about Sunday or Nelly yet; but thanks for the info. Not sure that makes our decision easier about where to get a table that night

If you go to wantickets.com they have Nelly on there for Sunday at 1oak. I can vouch for Joey also, he's been great. Even with places he isnt affliated with, he's been able to point me in the rt direction.

I think there is a lot of opinions on 1OAK. Here's mine

Did I walk in and say 'holy shit' like I did the first time I was in Tryst, TAO, or XS. Nope. It is a smaller more intimate club that can still bounce, yes.

Did I feel it was some 'super exclusive' place to be, not so much.

As for tables, its going to depend on the size of your group. Many large horseshoe booths that are going to make up several tables. There are dance floor tables and some elevated above the floor. Some of the elevated tables in line with the DJ booth seem like you would have your back to the action most of the night. Not bad, but awkward.

As for the bad reviews, I think some of those are GA people. Similar to my experience at LAX. If you don't have a table or aren't on the dance floor, there is not much room for you.

So, would I go back, you bet. Would I blow my budget on MDW there given other options...I'd really have to think on that.

Usual mix, maybe skewing a bit older than some other Vegas clubs. Music is open format. They also have a small hip hop only area.

Hard to judge based on mAyOD, because it was packed to hell. Seemed kinda small to me actually though...waitresses were nice

Has anyone been there on a Thursday? It is our first night and thought it would be a good first night. Staying at Mirage and thinking a good deal is possible that night?

Damn...was hoping the invasion would help solidify a "review" by way of forum members for 1OAK. It was fun though? Good crowd? Good Service? Good Music?
