To secure a good table location should you just expect to pay more or should you just simply ask the host for a nice location? Also is there a thread showing the best table location at each club?

the more you spend the better the table. tell your host what you want and what its going to take to get you there... NOTHING IS EVER GUARANTEED!! EVER... re read that...ok moving on. nights change quickly. a celebrity or billionaire might show up and want half of the dance floor... you will lose to this person and minimums will go up. supply and demandOriginally posted by Senatordwill View PostTo secure a good table location should you just expect to pay more or should you just simply ask the host for a nice location? here are some tips
1. Spend more money
2. Tip
3. Get there early.
4. Be good looking.
5. Keep in contact with your host.
6. Book through a host at the club
7. spend more money

Here's what I did...seemed to work well. Told the host where I wanted to be (after bouncing it off of a JC moderator to make sure I was "in line"), how much I wanted for minimum, and how much I would tip. They said it was doable.
While I'm not GUARANTEED exactly what table I will have, they were as firm as can be expected that I would have the location I was looking for. I followed up with them a couple times as the date grew closer to make sure something hadn't come up that was unforeseeable at the time of the reservation. All seems to be good...will know for sure in a couple days.

Like all great travelers, I've seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen.

They will probably just hand you off to a host anyway...I feel better calling a host that works for the club and say "so-and-so referred me...here's what I need" Then again, I'm a personal service kind of guy...Originally posted by gabrielnovar View Postwhy use a host vs going to the club...seems like prices are the same. I wouldn't mind tipping 1k to get a good table but want my minimum around 1500 for two people.
seems like calling the club direct is easier especially if you are a 9/10 looks.Like all great travelers, I've seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen.

you go to a host because thats who's going to take care of you all night, who's going to seat you at a table, and who will choose where you sit. the hosts run the door and the club. like any sales job hosts have a quota... you're not helping them by calling the club or going up to the club and asking for a table so why would they help you. call ins and walk ups are considered that and no one gets credit. I send all of my tables to Bobby Yeadon at XS and Tryst. 708-714-0280. i use to work there so i send a lot over to him and he takes very good care of my clients. Tell him i referred you and he will take care of you. he's a good friend.Originally posted by gabrielnovar View PostOriginally posted by Chuck View PostThey will probably just hand you off to a host anyway...I feel better calling a host that works for the club and say "so-and-so referred me...here's what I need" Then again, I'm a personal service kind of guy...Originally posted by gabrielnovar View Postwhy use a host vs going to the club...seems like prices are the same. Perfect example...personal relationships are valuable. To the venue, your just another wad of cash they want to get their hands on. To the host, you're an investment in time and effort and a way to earn a living. Who do you think will work harder for your money???Originally posted by DeX View Postfriend last weekend called a club for a table: 2k outside.Originally posted by gabrielnovar View Postwhy use a host vs going to the club...seems like prices are the same.
