Getting BS first time. Is my plan good?

Hello everyone!

I busted my clubbing cherry last month at Pure, but my next trip is a bit more ambitious. My group is getting BS for the first time during MDW. I wanted to find out if my estimates are good or are off base for my trip. Right now we have 3 people who are going for sure. We have 2 people that are almost surely going but have not given me the 100% in for this trip. I am almost positive they are going. I am trying to figure price ranges for 3 and for 5 people so that I am prepared.

Here is what we are doing:
Friday: BS @ TAO
Saturday: Hosted entry into Marquee

We are using the same host for both nights. I have already locked this in for my group of 3. Once I get the word, I will be adding the other 2 people.

These are my price estimates for both scenarios (3 vs 5 people):

3 people:
Host tip: 300
Security: 100
Cocktail Waitress: 100
Busboy: 100
2 bottles: 500/ea
Tax + Fees: 300
----------------------
Total: 1900 (633pp)

5 people:
Host tip: 500
Security: 100
Cocktail Waitress: 100
Busboy: 100
3 bottles: 500/ea
Tax + Fees: 450
--------------------
Total: 2750 (550pp)

Am I figuring this right? I am trying to provide accurate estimates for the members of my group.

Our second night, we are planning to get hosted entry for Marquee. How much would you tip the host upon entry for groups of 3 or 5 people? I was thinking 100pp, but I am not sure if this is high/low for MDW. I am also not sure if my business from the night before would affect the tip amount. I was assuming not.

I appreciate all the information this site has provided me thus far, and I am hoping to get some experience so that I may help others eventually

i think your estimates are way too low for MDW. Youre probably looking to spend atleast double that if you dont want to get stuck in some random hallway with no foot traffic. Remember, this is one of the most busiest weekends in vegas - so you will be paying a premium for that. And youre better off buying presale tickets instead of trying to do hosted entry for that saturday at marquee because they will be asking for an arm and a leg

The cocktail waitress tip will be included in your bill and will be 20%.

You can cut your bus boy tip to $50 and still be tipping top of the line to the bus boy.

Under the pinned thread bottle service and pricing menu, on page one, you will find the Tao menu and you can identify the exact cost per bottle.

Clubs charge extra for red bull and bottled water.

Taxes are 8.1%.

Eh, I was already quoted 1k min for 3 people at TAO for a main room table. I was told it would not be a prime location, but it would still be in the main room. I was making an estimate when I increased the number of people in my party to 5. It may even be possible (however unlikely) that my minimum will not change when/if I add those two extra people.

Also, I have seen the general admission tickets for Saturday night for $60/$30. What I was estimating is that I give more than that to the host, and I don't have any wait whatsoever. I was under the impression that we would be waiting a while even with general admission tickets, especially since our ratios are going to be either 2 male/1 female or 4 male/1 female.

Yeah, I was figuring that with standard cheapy bottles of vodka that it would be close to 500 per. The service charge + tax is why I added 300/450 to the totals of my estimates. It is good to know that the cocktail waitress is going to be included in the bill, that makes things easier to pay out.

I would be SHOCKED if a 1k minimum will get you in the main room at Tao on Memorial Day Weekend. And increasing your number to 5 will definitely increase your minimum.

Yeah, I was very surprised to hear that. I guess there is some confusion here. My interactions are part of a 7-8 email back and forth exchange. One email specifies that on Fridays the main room starts at 1k. That email makes no specific mention of MDW. The last confirmation email, the host specifies that he has me down for a 1k min table on Friday MDW. I am guessing that he was just quoting normal Fridays in that first email, but then was talking about MDW in the last.

Even if this is the case, nbd. I am not real picky about table location for a busy weekend like this. Besides, I have never even stepped foot in TAO before, and neither has anyone in my party. If we get a 1k min table a little further away from the action, it will be more than acceptable.

Even for a non holiday weekend a 1K min for 5 people in main room is amazing. I'm doing a Thurs with a 50/50 group of 6 and needed to be north of 1K to even talk main room...and that's a Thursday. Nicely done...

If the 3-4 tables upstairs past the women's bathrooms count as main room, those are not where you want to be. Those tables get no foot traffic at all.

I think the lowest main room tables are the "dug out" which are behind the bar...I'd ask them if this is the area they've got in mind. Otherwise you may be looking at the Voyeur Hallway. But hey, if location really doesn't matter and they come through with someplace in or around the main room then I'd say it's a win. Either way I'd plan on trying to be at the front of the table line and get there early.

This is a good time to bring up estimate for the weekend after MDW, for 3 dudes for a table in the main room....what are we looking at? 1200 to 1800 pending on table specifics?

1k, main room, MDW, no chance. remember a table is NEVER guaranteed. Talk to jordan again and make sure he knows its for MDW.
