NAB After Party

Just found out that the NAB After Party is at TAO the night I'm planning to go. Worried about two possibilities:

1. With all the big $ I'm going to be a bottom feeder and end up with a shitty table

2. The place is going to be packed with d-bags and be lame

Wondering if a change of venue would be a good idea? Anyone familiar with the NAB crowd?

I've been to NAB a few times & I'm surprised that they've got a clue and having it at Tao on the right night lol!

#1 & 2 are always a risk any where u go in Vegas lol! I don't think that the women will know it's the same night of the NAB after party so I say go have a ball...besides they'll be able to discern the difference simply based on dress.

I didn't mention I've got BS for 6 (50/50) lined up for the night...my "mentors" (dnix, Universal, WarreN, etc.) from the past few weeks will know my situation. You guys have been awesome by the way...thanks a million.

What is the NAB show crowd like?

Worried about a few things;

1. Is there a chance my table will get bumped?
2. Is the NAB show going to bring in 1000000 males to the club?
3. Do events like this attract more hookers to the clubs?

From what I know members of the NAB are executives and professionals in broadcasting. Not the "talent" but the business people. They get free admittance and open bar as follows:

Saturday 4/14 - TAO
Sunday 4/15 - LAVO
Monday 4/16 - Marquee
Tuesday 4/17 - LAVO
Wednesday 4/18 - LAVO
Thursday 4/19 - TAO (Official afterparty)

Apparently this convention draws 90,000 members. The more I think about it though it probably doesn't really matter. There will probably just be a massive line outside full of people waiving there NAB badge that can't get in. Doubt many, if any, of them will be buying tables since they have free admission and a 1 hour open bar.

Hey dnix...just curious...what is the "best table in the house" as far as minimums go?

Dance floor tables at Tao thur are prob 5-10k. I prefer the lower cabanas which are 1500-2500.

What about the group of tables right next to the dance floor that are kind of on a platform by the bathtub? Those seem decent.

Think your talking about the Moat area which is 3-4k. Prices vary though depending on demand and events. Im giving you somewhat safe numbers for a Thursday at Tao. These areas have been had for cheaper. Some host will give you the absolute cheapest min, but then you run the risk of not getting that area or your min being bumped up at the last minute. Some host will give those safe numbers, because they want to make sure you get what your wanting, and they dont want to get a bad review (bait and switch).

It really helps to know what kind of host your dealing with, have good communication with them, and have some knowledge of pricing for the area you want prior to dealing with them.

I'm working with Rod. From what Chad tells me he's newer to the hosting game. He knows I want main room, what I'm going to tip, and our group ratio and has said we should be in the main room. What's reasonable if we get there and are taken to a shitty table?

If I remember correctly, your at 1250min and 250-300 tip. I know my host would make it happen for 1500min and 500 tip, so your not that far off. Its always a roll of dice, thats why I try to only use host Im familiar with.
