I would say less than 10% of the attendees even know about it. They don't make a big effort promote them. Its a long conference and ends at noon that day. I'm guessing most people are burned out and on their way home. This is more a party for the exhibitors who will spend the afternoon packing up.(many of which staff their booths with hot women to draw people in). I wouldn't be worried about this at all. The majority may show up for the open bar but will be out of there by midnight.

I always ask for a specific location. Yes, its possible to land a cabanas for that. Never guaranteed, but that size tip is pretty persuasive. Never heard of Rod either.
