Best response ever.Originally posted by Joey Orr View PostI ve been following the thread and have some thoughts. I would like to personally apologize for anyone who have been mistreated, felt over crowded, or could not get in. 1 Oak is still pretty new and not the largest of venues. I have never experienced what it may be like to not get into a club or wait hours only to pay a large cover and be over crowded once inside. My heart goes out to those people. Their have been a few nights where we were sold out by 1045 and at capacity by 1130. These are the type of nights that make and break a club. You get a massive amount of complaints from the people that didn't get in, waited hours, and felt overcrowded once inside. However, i think their is just as many, if not more, people that had the most amazing night of their life. As a host, I do my best to try and put myself in the shoes of the client. I treat others the way I would like to be treated. For anyone who has had a bad experience at 1 Oak I invite you to reach out to me. I will do my best to try and make it up the second time around.

The biggest issue I see with reading Yelp type reviews for the LV nightclub scene, is that there really are at least 2 distinct experiences (for guys at least) that differ not by just a little bit, but by a HUGE amount.
You have the table/bottle service types who have their shit together, know what the table mins are going to be and appreciate what value their getting for their money. They know to tip, and are rewarded accordingly with good service. These groups have epic nights and party like rockstars.
Then you have the general admission / cheapskates that think that just because they're at the hot club in LV, they should be treated like royalty. They bitch about the line even though they didn't call and get on the guest list or pony up for a table. If you go on a super packed night, you have nowhere to sit, stand, etc and can feel like a sardine.
These 2 experiences happen simultaneously on the same night - reviews by the second group have no bearing on the experience of the first. I've had both the best club night and the worst club night at Tao - I don't blame Tao, I blame myself and the group I was with. The epic night was a big bachelor party where we did it up right and got a big table and lots of bottles. We partied like crazy and had a great time. The crappy night was me and 1 other guy and we braved GA - it was packed like sardines and we had a mediocre time at best.
I haven't been to 1Oak yet, but am looking forward to seeing how they've changed the space since the Jet days.Upcoming Vegas Trips:

Ways to enjoy Vegas clubs, in order:
1) Get a table, know what you are doing, and tip appropriately
2) Contact a host, get on the guest list, and tip appropriately
3) Get to the club EARLY so you're at the front of the line, pay full cover
Ways not to enjoy Vegas clubs:
1) Don't know what is going on and think you can get to the club at 11 GA (or get put on the guest list by a non-reputable host/don't tip) and get in without a wait.Next Trip: October 28-31, 2016

basically, if you do your research and understand what you're getting yourself into, you will have a great time. you wing it without any research, and it will be less than enjoyable.Originally posted by chrisbru View PostWays to enjoy Vegas clubs, in order:

I must #cosign GBDC ! This group had to have been the most amped up, ready to party group I have seen in quite awhile! He's right, it is what you make it and they walked into GBDC ready to party. I know a lot of people aren't too what they are walking into when they entered the doors, but they quickly embraced it!Janelle Bañaga

I just wanted to bump this thread to share my experience.
We went to 1OAK this last Tuesday after a promoter, Crystal, approached us at Marquee the previous night and invited us to join her and other ladies for bottle service. I was skeptical at first, but she was super nice, and texted us the next day to make sure we were coming, so we figured, what the hell!
She totally came through, we walked in with about 10 other girls and got free drink tickets while we waited for the table to be ready (which took all of 10 minutes tops). First we were in the smaller hip-hop room, but then we got moved into the main room, huge booth, right by the dance floor.
We had an AWESOME time. Music was exactly what I like, a mix of EVERYTHING, not just strictly EDM. Crystal introduced us to some other promoters, all of who were super nice and made sure we had a great time. Danced my booty off, awesome way to spend our last night in Vegas!
