I'm the cheapskate in my group, but only to a certain degree. I'm not the type that will just throw money away without proper planning, it's just the way I am. But on the flip side, if approached with a plan of how much i'm looking to spend, I'll do it, or if we're out and you say "Hey, let's get a table tonight" and I have extra money to spend, then hey, let's get a table.
How do YOU deal with your parties cheapskates?

As most have said on here, break down the costs. I've been 3 times with the last being bottle service each night and the first two we just waited to get in.
1-2 hour wait times: yup we did that. It sucks. Only plus was we weren't gambling and loosing money.
$8-12 per beer, $12-$18 per mixed drink + tip. Yup done that too. And no one in our group tips just $1. Run the tab up and see tip at the night is our preferred method and yet we still get hit up for $400-500 no problem.
Then there's the club time. Say you are there from 10pm-3am. How much time is WASTED standing at the bar waiting to be served? My worst night was 20 minutes just to get my order taken and another 10 for the drinks to be made. (though the bartender had the most amazing memory and was making about 50 drinks at once). Even if you tip the bartender REAL well to start with and he remembers your drinks, you still have to wait for them.
No place to sit, store your stuff, have others come sit and talk to? Yeah that sucks as well.
Once I got pricing for all my bottle service and I told the guys their costs they didn't argue at all. Some were a bit hesitant but then when they saw all the benefits it was worth it to them.
For me, because I could, I was willing to pay more if I had to to ensure all my friends could party with me. There were 5-6 of us a night and costs were around $120-$160 without tipping the host. I told each one to tip what they felt was right, but I always took care of the host proper. Same goes for the waitresses, security and table runners. That cost was on me because I knew my buddies A) had not clue and B) couldn't afford the extra $40-$50 in tips.March 2007 - Venetian | December 2010 - Flamingo | December 2011 - Palms | November 2012 - Cosmo | November 2013 - Mandalay Bay | June 2014 - PH

As far as I'm concerned, there are no cons to getting a table.Originally posted by Senatordwill View PostWhat do you guys feel are the top benefits in getting a table and top benefits to not getting a table?
Some of the pros are:
Expedited club entry
Your own space for the night
Personal server and security
Place for girls to sit
Never wait in line for a drink

I have to say - the first time I did bottle / table service was at Tao for a bachelor party and I had a bit of sticker shock, but I didn't complain and wanted the bachelor to have a good time. Once I actually thought about the cost breakdown, I totally 'got it'. Hell, I can easily spend $100-150 on drinks at a bar in my hometown, let alone Vegas, so once you figure in cover, expedited entry, security, place to sit, etc it's totally worth it.Upcoming Vegas Trips:

I'm having the same trouble because I'm planning my best friends bachelorette party a lot of them have never been to vegas and don't realize that each drink is like $15-20 a drink plus cover so bottle service is definitely worth it but since everybody is cheap they are only chipping in $90 a person and I'm stuck covering the rest but there is no way I'm going to a vegas club and not getting bottle service so I guess I'm paying

sorry to hear that organising your stag is turning pear shaped on you. Agree with all the comments about breaking down the upside of bottle service, and its worth a shot, but it sounds like the issue is that a bunch of people in your group just don't want to spend the dollars, period.
Some people are like that - wouldn't matter if you told them it was bottomless Cristal at the best table in the club, with ten gogo dancers dancing on your table with sparklers sticking out of their butts....some people will still say no.
My advice is to do this - plan on a strip club beforehand, with everyone in your group. Anyone who wants to be cheap, can be.
Afterwards, the plan is to hit a club. It will cost $200-$300 per head, depending on numbers. Anyone who wants to come can, but they need to commit by xx date, so you can lock it in and book a table.
That way, you get to spend time with everyone at the strip club before and no noses are put out of joint. Then hopefully its just you and your true friends that hit the club, and whoever didn't want to go, can go watch tv in their room or whatever. And anyone who doesn't want to do bottle service but wants to do the club can go into the GA line and meet you inside. Chances are, if they aren't prepared to chip in for BS, they aren't going to grease to skip the line, so worst case, they stand in line for an hour before pulling the pin, and you can give them the 'I told you so, you cheap bastard' the next day. Either way, you have a great night, which is the whole point.."...For in that sleep of death, what dreams may come

Ha...I just got hit with the same thing from my group. The group has ballooned to about 20 people overall, I only think about 4-5 of us are willing to do Bottle service. The women in the group definitely don't want to chip in so I'm revising my entire plan and I leave for Vegas tomorrow. Wish me luck.

Bummer dude. Well I looks like we have it sorted out. Most are hitting the strippers then bailing. Works for me. It's our only night to really go hard, so I just told them I wasn't compromising. We are all together for 5 hours before the club opens, and from there we are all just going to split off.

The people in your group who don't want to spend the $ at the nightclubs will spend the same if not more at the rippers. Rippers in Vegas are nothing special (and a waste of time IMO) compared to the joints we have in Niagara Falls, Ontario.Originally posted by ambrose132 View PostBummer dude. Oh I know about Canadian strippers. Full Monty all the time. The best is the games they play to get you to throw loonies at them ($1 coins here in Canada). True- but since your a pack of females, u should be able to get lower tables minimums, and really, only send in half the group on the table reservation and try to get the rest on the guest list.
Shouldn't have any issues from what I have read here in the forums.

I know many have suggested you should break down the prices for your group, so they can understand they are getting pretty good bang for their buck. However, I will say, some people just aren't willing to spend that type of cash no matter how "justified" it is. I would just tell my group, if this is what we want to do, this is how much it costs. If they are in, they are in; if not, don't stress over it.
Another thing you can do, if you are financially capable is to chip in more. But only do this if you can afford to and you think you'll have a better time if they are there.
