Yay! I'm so excited. Southwest made it seem like I had to pay for some special packaging service. Bubble wrap and ziplock it is. Thanks guys!

It depends on where youre staying I guess but we used the Walgreens right outside the Venetian for booze, mixes, and water. Seemed like Walgreen prices to me.

They won't know what's in your checked bag unless you explicitly tell them

On their website as well as the TSA's it states 5 liters. Just make sure to pack it well using the baggies and the bubble wrap and you'll be just fine =)

Another tip is if you are flying from outside the US, you can always buy from Duty Free at the airport (not anymore expensive than CVS or Walgreens on the strip), they carry it for you onto the plane and all you have to do is haul it with your luggage (you'll be in a cab anyways) to your hotel

Which brings me to a question of my own, can you do this if you're flying within the US? This being purchasing alcohol at Duty Free shops. Thanks in advance.

Up until a year or so ago you had to have an internatonal ticket to buy at Duty Free for Detroit and Minneapolis, and then, as you stated, they wil meet you in the jetway with your booze and smokes... However, I have gotten away with just showing my passport in both Tokyo and Schipol with no problems, as I had just landed and didn't have a ticket to show. Told them my wife was at my gate with my ticket and we were headed home. Loaded up on stuff and then went to the hotel =)
