Need Club advice please!

Howdy! My husband and I are going to Las Vegas next month for the second time. The first time we blew a bunch of money on food, booze, and didn't even go to anywhere super fun. This time, we will be prepared. I need help finding a club for Friday or Saturday night and I would like suggestions. We are in our early 30's, love to dance (and don't suck at it, seriously, I am not delusional about this), Are well dressed, pretty good looking and fashionable. We want a night out to get dressed up and have fun in an atmosphere which is exciting and "clubby", for lack of a better term. We don't want a table, or bottle service. We just want to drink ,dance, ogle the crazy decor, and be merry. Where should we go? What should we do when we get there, just stand in line? How does that work? Do they let in regular folks? Somebody help me out, clearly I am out of my element here, things are a bit different in Vegas vs, say, Denver. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Alright, so I read the list, but I still feel confused. I mean, as I mentioned we do not want a table or bottle service, we just want to get in like regular folks, pay our way, buy our drinks etc. So should I be trying to contact a host so we do not have to stand in line forever? We are there for the CES convention, my husband is a software developer for whats looking to be a pretty rad new product called Sphero. Should I text some host and be all "Hey me and my husband are in town for CES, he is a developer for Sphero, can we get in your club?" That seems so corny! And then, what does that mean, does that mean we then tip the guy who got us in and pay the door fee, or just tip the dude? So confused. We don;t have these kinds of clubs in Colorado. We having camping, and microbreweries, non of which require tipping, lines, or painful highheels.

There are Guestlists. Most clubs have Guestlists which in many cases you get in for free. Thats if you get there early enough and if you're in line when its not packed yet. Some big clubs can get packed as early as 8pm if there is a big named performer that night. Usually Guestlists will close early at a certain time either if its super packed or if you arrive late like 10:30pm+. In that case, that line will just end up being a regular pay to get in line.

I've hardly ever had to pay but in most cases if its a Tier 2 club it'll be $10-30 to get in for guys. Usually free for women if its before 11-12. That will actually be on the high side MOST of the time. Alot of the tier 2 clubs arent that packed so its pretty easy getting in for free. Sometimes they'll just let people in for free or if you find those promoter people in the entrances of the casino where the club is at trying to give people arm bands to get in for free.

Tier 1 clubs can get into $30-50 easily on big nights and up into $100. Those places you just have to get there early so you're not standing in line for 2hrs to get in. There are guestlists in Tier1 clubs but if its packed, that GL line can easily be the last to move fast. So you end up paying somehow.

There are pre-sale tickets so you can get in certain clubs if its a big night, but if you're not too picky, I"m sure there are clubs you can just walk in and not having to pay in advance.

This is based on my experiences. It can vary from others and I'm sure there are other information others can share that may be different from mine.

This is vegas, its a different beast than any other city. if you were to compare it to eating dinner out, in denver a meal may cost 20-30 per person where in vegas the same food is 50 - 80 per person. beer in denver is prob around 4-5 but in vegas is 8-10. vodka drinks in denver are prob 10, but in vegas they are 16-18. with that being said the normal people get tables. why do they get tables?

1. to avoid a line
2. to avoid cover
3. to avoid mark ups on drinks at the bar

with a table and say 1 bottle, you pay 375 - 450 + gratuity and tax, with general admission you pay a cover, wait in line and pay up charges at the bar.

when you get a bottle you get 30 - 35 drinks per bottle.

add it up, cover of 30 x2 = 60
30 drinks at 18 per drink cost 540

Thats 600 and you wasted time waiting in line and potentially tipping to get in. my advise is to get a table like the normal people do, in the end its more cost effective and leads to a better time.

You may also be able to get others to join your table if you are at CES, as most of those people love clubs and are cool with bottle service.

We need further explanation, why only 1-2 drinks each, cost, pregame, not big drinkers? rarely does one only drink 1 - 2 drinks the whole day while in vegas.

Guestlist line can still end up as long as 1-2 hrs still. Just depends. Guestlist doesnt really mean anything. LOL. Sometimes its free, sometimes its not. It can end up being the discretion of the people at the door/line.

Darryl has great info though. 1-2 drinks? how long you plan to stay in there? 30 min or are you babysitting each drink for 2hrs? :P j/p man

two guys? heck if u dont finish the bottle there be tons of girls more then willing to join you at your table if the drinks are free

I went to a holiday function today with a cousin in law who frequents Vegas and she said that I am cute enough to most likely get my husband and myself in free. Which was a very sweet thing to say. Though I get the vibe that with enough slutty clothes/highheels/fake eyelashes, pretty much anyone who is not totally unfortunate can get in a club. Either way, between the advice and her ego stroking I think I am ready to brave the club scene! Thanks a bunch!

bring 2-3 more women and that will be a good ratio to get in free. hehe
But it all really just depends on the club. Places like Marquee and XS, will most likely not just get in free randomly since theyre always very busy. You need to contact a host or something.
Places like Chateau @ Paris or Gallery @ PH often lets people in for free on slow nights.

It's not any particulary reason...i'm not just a big fan of alchool Nothing more.

So what kind of advices you can give to me ?
