LA...it's closer to Vegas
Like all great travelers, I've seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen.

Did you seriously just ask if Sunny LA with always amazing weather, nice beaches, beautiful people, great party town, tons of stuff to do and near over a handful of great all around cities is better then rainy drowsy cold Seattle? Seattles closest escape is Canada. LAs closest escapes are Orange County, San Diego, Disneyland, every well known beachtown and Vegas... I will personally come to your home, knock on your door, slap you and leave if this thread continues without a "LA! It's official!".

Closest "escape" is Canada...that's funny. And absolutely incorrect lol.Originally posted by NoahRam View PostDid you seriously just ask if Sunny LA with always amazing weather, nice beaches, beautiful people, great party town, tons of stuff to do and near over a handful of great all around cities is better then rainy drowsy cold Seattle? I love the fact that LA is so much closer to Vegas than where I'm currently at; which is Denver. But the cost of living is so outrageous, I can get a 1-bed downtown Seattle for that much. Also, I've heard a ton of good things about Seattle and if I end up getting the job downtown then I won't have to worry about bringing a car out there so that cuts expenses as well. OH man, get ready for LA nightlife problems.
What to do on a Friday/Saturday night.... I can't decide. Porter Robinson/Zedd at Avalon Nightclub or maybe Dash Berlin at Sutra in Orange County this Thursday to start the weekend early. But then Martin Solveig is at Greystone Manor in Beverly Hills on Thursday too and thats closer to me.
Maybe drive out to Vegas on Friday night or chill at Santa Monica with the friends at a local bar for a laidback weekend.
What if I have to work on Friday and Saturday... hmm at least I can go do Red Cup Sundays dayclub at Icon in Downtown LA or possibly Do Over at Lure in Hollywood.
Just letting you know what you'll have to encounter and all the difficult decisions you have to make if you move to LA. hahah.Last edited by WT661; 10-08-2012, 04:33 PM.***Feb 2012 - Aria - Marquee *** March 2012 - Encore - Marquee, Surrender

Lol, I'm obviously extremely biased towards LA being the better place regardless of what the competition was. I don't know much about Seattle beyond being there for one weekend while I was stationed at Fairchild AFB in Spokane.Originally posted by Chali2Na View PostClosest "escape" is Canada...that's funny. How I see it is, that Southern California is not for everyone. Some people do not fit in the big city and big suburb living. The freeways while some places can get congested, most are actually tolerable on many hours of the day. And Socal is so big, that you may have to drive a bit to get to some places, but thats part of being in a place where there is so much to see and to do.
To some people those "negatives" are major factors to them and would prevent them from living here. But growing up and living in Socal, I honestly feel traffic and distance to places are minor inconveniences in my life. There are so much more positives that outweigh the stuff people complain about. lol.
Living in Socal is also different in many places. You have the north end(San Fernando and Santa Clarita Valley), West side(West LA, Santa Monica), Mid City(Beverly Hills, Ktown, Hollywood), Downtown LA, SouthBay(Torrance)-Long Beach, Orange County, South OC, Inland Empire(Riverside, Fontana) and everything else in between. Its so different for each area, it can easily be classified as their own cities on their own. Its like living in 10 unique cities that are all next to each other.
You just have to find which location works for you and if its close to your job.***Feb 2012 - Aria - Marquee *** March 2012 - Encore - Marquee, Surrender
