I guess the same would apply to girls in Socal

I m trying to get my friend who just got married motivated to go to the gym with me. Something about getting married I tell ya.. I still think they should try to impress their partners sometimes..

Weights workout in the morning before work, then 30 minutes cardio after work, supplemented with protein and creatine shakes and from about now on I’ll be trying to not eat carbs after 6pm. I shouldn’t really be drinking any alcohol either, but that’s not going to happen.

Yep, it’s not exactly healthy or sustainable, but it’s a good way to get shredded for a specific objective (i.e Rehab!) I half know what im doing as I qualified as a personal trainer in my spare time…so when people ask me why I still drink, smoke and eat crap, I can tell them I’ve made an educated decision to do so!
Nice! Sounds like you are putting in double time to be ready for Vegas. What protein / creatine supplement do you recommend?

I work out 4-5x a week and drink Optimum Nutrition Whey protein.

In Vegas i'm on what we call a "lack of diet", meaning I don't put anything in my body other than fluids that aren't exactly known for their nutritional value.

I lost about 8-10 lbs on this trip out. I don't do it on purpose, but when you're having fun sometimes you just forget to eat!
Completely agree! People get surprised when I tell them that I lose weight in Vegas, but the fact is that I normally eat 6 meals a day. When I m in LV I might be lucky to get 3 meals, and the other 3 are probably replaced with alcohol.

One thing that I do religiously though is hit up a buffet Kobyashi style before I leave on my long 6-7 hour drive back home. That tends to replenish a few things here and there.

I usually lift weights about 3 times a week, and cardio 2 times a week. For fun I have been taking pole dancing classes and it really is a very good work out!!! Also sometimes I join the class full of cougars and listen them talk about there lives, ex husbands, current young men they are seeing, etc. Its pure gym entertainment. I could right a book!

Right before Vegas (I leave Aug 11!!) I ramp up the cardio.

While I am there I try not to eat a bunch of crap. I guess its easy for me because when I dont eat it at home I usually dont want it away. I drink water. (I do booze it up though)

I may even try to get some gym time in while in vegas. It will give me some alone time (going with my best friend).
Nice! I usually go to the 24 fitness on Decatur if I in LV for more then 3 days. But I don't understand why more females don't do some weight training. Just doing that on its own helps burn calories. Everytime I go to my gym, they are on the cell phone walking the thread mill

Month of Vegas I go with HEAVY weights first 2 weeks, then its all lighter weights but 12+ reps till failure. That helps tone and shred muscles in a hurry.

See I like to not workout a few weeks before hand and go a little pudgy. That way I stand out from everyone else who is in shape. It's my secret technique, don't go telling everyone.

When I get back I usually run/workout like mad though after putting my body through what I do. I'm way more cut now than when I left for Vegas a few weeks ago.

haha thats a different take on things! Kind of like backwards then what most people do..

But I heard its actually good to take a full week off here and there so your body has to readjust to your work outs so they seem new again.

can't say that i do any special diet and exercise before vegas--but i do try and get myself into "drinking shape"

i'm probably a moderate drinker at best in my normal life, and figuring that my liver/body won't normally be accustomed to the level of drinking that happens in vegas i usually make a conscious effort to have another drink or two beyond what i normally would in the two or three months preceding my trip.

i don't know if it's scientifically sound, but my empirical evidence suggests that this is an effective strategy to condition the liver to accept higher levels of alcohol. if nothing else, it helps me build up my anticipation/excitement level for the upcoming trip and gives me an excuse to drink a little more!

                  anybody else do this?
crap out, cash out, pass out

i still smell like smoke, strippers, and shame

last night i swallowed liquor and a lighter
and this morning i threw up fire

Honestly, I don't see much of a point in trying to get into an arms race with a bunch of roided-up orange goblins with tribal tattoos. I do, however, like being in shape, so I try to get in at least a little bit of exercise every day. My physically fitness goals are based on the APFT, so mainly work on push-ups, sit-ups, and running. The abdominal region is my big problem area, so when I'm serious about my physical condition, I focus on cardio. I'm a big believer in intervals. When I was in basic training, they did more than anything else to get me lean and improve my run time. As for diet, when I want something that'll fill me up without making my gut explode, I eat lots of sushi (shouldn't be a problem in Vegas). I also drink lots of water.
The only winning move is not to play.

The Costco I go to here in the south bay area does, so I'm sure So Cal ones do as well. Steel cut is great, I prefer it now to rolled oats actually.

And BarrellO, that comment about the roided orange goblins almost made me spit out my water lol. And it's too true...
