Yes - I can fully confirm that they will definitely NOT be open until at least July, and I'm actually hearing September. Angel Management Group is surely messing up by not having their nightclub/dayclub open as they're missing out on the prime summer season for AC and tons of revenue.

They are pushing hard to have the main room (1 out of 4 levels) of the nightclub open in July though, although it's not certain they'll be able to.

Thanks Brett for the update and I totally agree with you AMG is majorly screewing themselves by not being able to fully capitalize on the summer season in AC. Revel themselves can't be too happy about that either.

Did anyone get there this weekend? Just wondering some early reviews, I also see presales on the website for some upcoming events, wondering what the opinion is on that after seeing the line setup if anyone did go

I was there on Friday and Saturday this past weekend. Initial impressions are very good, though they were definitely experiencing some growing pains the first night.

There are a lots of minor issues to sort out, which I'm confident they'll have solved by this upcoming weekend when they have their first respectable DJ lineup.

The main room is open along with the outdoor "skygarden" area. The other levels (library, rooftop, etc.) will be open for the grand opening on Labor Day Weekend.

For now, the main room is about the size of every other Atlantic City club (but with higher ceilings). There are 33 tables in the main room, and the biggest difference between these and other tables is that they sit larger groups than other clubs in town do. The minimums this weekend were starting around $1,500 and going all the way up to $8,000. That's pretty aggressive for non-holiday pricing in Atlantic City, but the club sold out both nights, so kudos to them.

The rest of the summer will be pretty good at HQ, but look out in the fall when they start booking their huge name residents. It would be tough to put Calvin Harris or Dada Life in the main room right now only because the capacity isn't huge without the other levels open. Once they are open after Labor Day, the capacity will be large enough (spread over multiple floors) to handle one of those huge DJ's.

Thanks for the review Brett. Really looking forward to checking out this place. Wish the damn dayclub was open but I'll take what I can get.

Hey Brett! Funny, I almost texted you to see if you knew anybody at the Revel clubs... Was there for Sun 7/8 through Tues 7/10 and checked out "Silicone Sundays" at Ivan Kane's Royal Jelly. Fairly cool place, actually, and I was digging the burlesque theme. Sunday is particularly interesting because it's more than just an "industry" night- they try to target the stripper industry in particular... so we had a few fun groups. Love how many of the VIP tables/booths have their own stripper poles. And security was allowing some of them to go up on the main stage and show off, within reason, between the official shows. Bottle service was extremely attentive and well-priced.

Definitely would return to RJ. Didn't get to check out HQ or any of the other venues, but certainly REVEL is a breath of fresh air for AC. Sort of a cross between the Cosmo and Mohegan Sun, I thought.

Overall I was surprised at the overall business level in AC for a Sunday - Tuesday timeframe. Sure it's Summer on the Jersey Shore but it was really the hotels and casinos that seemed busier than the beaches and boardwalk. Kudos to them if things are picking up economically.

PS: For Bob and others who'd experienced the rather crappy sound early on @ Harrah's pool - they've revamped and upgraded! I think they realized the potential and stepped it up a notch. Of course a glass dome will never be ideal acoustically, but they have more power and coverage now based on what I saw.

Cool, I'll upgrade Harrahs from "Hell no" to "When they have a good DJ, sure." I thought it was a neat venue and I liked the bar staff I interacted with, but before the sound at said bar was crap.

I can now confirm that after about a month of being open, HQ Nightclub is the tits.

Fridays and Saturdays have been good the last couple weeks and HQ Sundays are starting to border on the word "epic." They are completely going after the Sunday Industry Night competition (Mixx at Borgata), and the Sunday night parties that I've been to are absurd.

It all continues this weekend when they have Tommy Trash on Friday, Pierce Fulton on Saturday, and then Chris Lake & Avicii on Sunday. Yes, on Sunday.
