i'm an engineer, i believe in the math down to the very last drop, but i still gamble cuz it's entertaining and I expect to lose.

as sidekicknicholas said, the house always has an edge, each roll is independent of the last roll, i.e. no roll affects any other roll. if i saw someone roll boxcars 10 times consecutively, the possibility of him rolling his 11th boxcar is still 1/36.

but we are all playing for fun! so if u dont want to get into the math, then play however you want! everybody has their own ways of doing things

Hahaha right on I love how engineers think. All the answers are in the numbers lol. Boxcars 10 times in a row the odds are the 11th roll is 36-1 . That is classic

Unfortunately there's no mathematical formula for luck and karma .

I owe you guys a round in Vegas.

What is the first thing engineering students buy after they get there degree? Lace less shoes, they tend to overthink EVERYTHING. Lol . I work on a team with a few chemical, electrical and mechanical engineers. Good times.

I'm an engineer too, my first buys were a trip te Vegas and a new car.... I wouldn't say engineers over-think things, they just think things, which is rare these days.

I can say with 100% honesty, playing my craps system (based solely off numbers/math) I have NEVER, I will say again, NEVER left a casino with less money that I started by playing craps (sure I've lost at poker, BJ, slots etc etc).... but craps alone, I have NEVER had a losing day.

26+ casino trips all break even or winners. I guess I'm on a bit of a "hot roll" eh? Sure I have a little luck but when I can get the house edge to
.8% for the come out roll, and 0% after that, I'll take it every time.

Sorry I'm not the most important xperienced craps player.. I kind of tried this method last weekend but not sure if I'm doing it right.. I'm going back tomorrow though.. So basically you place a bet on the pass and don't pass for the come out.. And the only reason u bet on the pass for comeout is to decrease ur chances of losing till the point is made right? After the point is made bet odds on don't pass only right? And don't place any bets on ur odds for ur pass line bet.. Just leave ur initial pass line bet there by itself? Does that sound right?

Sorry if I don't make any sense..

Yes... you'll get strange looks so be prepared. With this bet your only chance of losing anything is if a 12 is rolled on the come out, you lose your don't pass but also don't win on the passline. Anything else at least break even.

                    Yes.
I never bet the passline beyond what I do for for the come-out roll.
I personally only bet "Don't Pass" on 4,5,9,10... I usually don't mess with 6/8, they're just too close to 7 (even though betting+odds+payouts it is the same).

99% of the time that is it. If I get up sometimes I'll start doing other bets with shitty odds.... I usually hang out, nickel and dime the casino for 90+ mins and walk away up some money and have like 8 free beers.

Odds bets are the best bets in all of Vegas.... use them.

I specifically remember doing this at the Packers v. Falcons playoff game last year. I was in Vegas for the game, saw the Packers were dominating so I knew my sportsbook bets would cover so at halftime I went and played craps because I was WAY up for the day anyway. 25 mins later (end of halftime) I was up like $500 (I couldn't lose, the Passline guys couldn't win). Drank so damn hard for the second half of the game I blacked out everything after like 8 pm. The bar we were at in the Flamingo had $1 tap beers, somehow in 30 mins of football I ran up a $168 tab on $1 beers. Can't wait for Packer's playoff football this year, oh, and I'll be back in Vegas!

I gotcha....seems like a really slow and unexciting way to play. No offense meant....

odds are the best bet in vegas, 0% house edge, why would you want to bet on all those other sucker bets on the felt?

nicholas seems to have a system with more action than the usual pass line+odds play which i usually do with an occasional place bet on the 6 and 8

cause its fun. ....I gamble for the entertainment value. I dont gamble enough $$$ to really care about the loss. If your playing the min by that system, it doesnt seem like youd win or loose much, unless you play for a long period of time. The longest Im gonna play is prob 1/2hr at a time.

Plus, I like getting high-fived at the table. Those are rare for Nicholas. lol

LOL Dnix , I was told along time ago by a pitboss when asked about winning on craps. He said whenever your walking through the casino and you see a packed table making a shit load of noise and celebration get in on the action chances are it will stay hot for awhile and u can make some good coin.
