There was actually a special on TV about a guy who could make the dice roll what he wanted. He's banned from every vegas casino, and won't give away his secret, but it was pretty sweet to watch. Granted, that guy in one a a billion probably, what with being able to calculate his roll off the randomizers. I'll see if I can find his name.

Edit: Apparently they called him 'The Captain' and he rolled 147 times before crapping out.

I know I've read/seen something about how if you can get your throw 100% exact every time.... I mean every single last detail - speed/height/release/etc the dice should show the right number every single time.

For a school stats project we made a machine that threw dice - it worked great.... how we set them was like a 85% correlation to what landed... but this machine had the same location, same release, same speed, EVERY TIME... a human just can't do that

Yeah, apparently this old guy died recently... but even if a person can throw the same speed/height/direction/etc all the time, eventually things like fatigue will come into play. Heck, it wouldn't surprise me if things like Humidity and the like had an effect on how the table bounced

I love the sound and theory of this strategy, but why is that when I'm playing with it, with a computer craps simulator, I'm getting my @$$ kicked?!?!?!? haha oh well, time to go try it for real i guess.

I've heard of him but never seen the special. I'll have to search for it.
I have heard of aguy they call "the arm" or"golden arm" and their is Dominic "Dice Dominator" LaRiggio and Frank Scoblete who run Golden Touch Craps and write books on it. They were on the Breaking Vegas series once.

So many factors do come into play such as angle, pitch, grip, speed, etc, of the dice. Practice is the best way to figure out what works best!

I get so frustrated with craPs games/simulators because they only take the mathematical approach of 1/6 rolls = 7. They never really seem to add in human interaction or the fact that sometimes people Actually do roll a long time.

The closest one is "aw craps" an app on the iphone by 24x7 digital. These games usually are great for teaching basic craps though.

But Like u said, gotta go try it for real!

Problem with that, and I'll say it... the 7 comes, and it comes a lot... one out of every 6 tosses should be a 7.... then you lose it all.

My method is awesome if you want to kills some time and score free drinks. Cocktail waitresses hit the table games a lot... especially a busy craps table, if I'm betting a way that means I only lose money on 12s on the come out roll, that means I'm not losing much if anything while getting a LOT of free drinks.

Here is how I justify my strategy.

$5 pass and $5 don't pass -Any number is break even except 12 (only on come out roll) - then I lose $5.
                12 has a 1-36 chance to come.
... on average there are 102 rolls per hour, 30% are "come-out" rolls - so about 30 per hour.
... that means on average, about every 71 minutes I lose $10 because of the 36 come out edge. This gives the house a 2.6% edge on the come out.

Once I survive the come out the house edge is 0% by only playing odds bets. Cannot beat that.... anywhere. Beats odds in Vegas. also looking at this:

                Dice Roll Possible Dice Combinations
                2 1-1
                3 1-2, 2-1
                4 1-3, 2-2, 3-1
                5 1-4, 2-3, 3-2, 4-1
                6 1-5, 2-4, 3-3, 4-2, 5-1
                7 1-6, 2-5, 3-4, 4-3, 5-2, 6-1
                8 2-6, 3-5, 4-4, 5-3, 6-2
                9 3-6, 4-5, 5-4, 6-3
                10 4-6, 5-5, 6-4
                11 5-6, 6-5
                12 6-6
... once that point is out, I like my 7s over anything else... it just makes sense to bet Don't Pass to me. Some people argue since on a 4/10 you have to bet 2 to win 1, they think its stupid. But each any everything throw you have a 2 to 1 chance of 7 over 4/10... 0%, but I look at it as like this:
Average number of throws to hit a point or 7-out is like 3.83 (lets say 4)
Chance of throwing 4 times without hitting a 7: 48% (over 50% of the time a 7 hits within 4 throws)
Chance of throwing 4 times without hitting a 4/10: 70%... so only 30% of the time that will hit within 4 throws.... much less than the 7. I like the odds.
This method definitely sounds unique.. but sounds like it makes sense.. ill try a couple hundred dollars with it and see where it gets me.. and let you guys know.. do you usually play on the strip?? for sum reason i alwys have better luck downtown..

All those odds/percentages and numbers are proven mathmatically but those percentages never stick on a Hot or Cold table. Better to observe the table and then decide to bet on the shooter or house.

They sure do stick... why do you think casino's base payouts, min bets, and rules off of them? Math is math... If you have the bankroll and play long enough the math will always be the case.

Because casinos are open 24/7 365 and in the end the casino always wins. Have you ever seem 2 boxcars rolled back to back? How about 3 times in a row? I have. Have you ever seen 7 rolled on the come out 5 times in a row? I have.

On hot and cold tables those numbers don't stick. It's just you only get a hot table maybe once a night, a cold table several times a night, and those percentages you talk about the other 16 hours.

Which have you seen more times?

and those percentages you talk about the other 16 hours.
So 66% of the time the numbers are right....I'll take 2-to-1 chance math wins.

Hot/Cold tables are subjective to your bet. There is no "hot/cold" table, but there are "hot/cold" bets. Math says that if there has been 36+ rolls without a 2 or 12, its about due to come... bet accordingly.

Seeing three 2's or 12's in a row is a 1 in 1,000,000 (acually 1 in a million) chance of happening.... do I believe you saw it, yes, do I believe most people have, no.

Seeing five 7's on a come out roll in a row is only 1 in 10,000 chance of happening. Perfect example of why people play the passline on the comeoue and not 2's or 12's

The problem with math is that it is based on 'over time'. The other problem with math is that according to it, there is no such thing as a 'heater' or 'monster roll.' I think all of us have witnesssed someone roll for a very long time before. But we havent all seen someone roll 'over time' (i.e. to infinity). So the best we can do is try to catch the shooter on a hot streak (or, bet as SideKick does and hope for more 7s).

I havent seen someone roll 5 7's in a row on comeout but I have seen someone roll 2 7s, a Yo, another 7, and another Yo on the comeout because it came from my hand at the Hard Rock in Biloxi last year. I dont think I could ever do that again.

Oh, and as for playing 2's and 12's on the comeout? I typically do, if I bet on the comeout at all. If I put 5 down on the PL, I will also bet $2 on C and E. This hedges my bet on any craps that may roll out and more than doubles my investment if an Yo is rolled.

You don't need to go to infinity, you just need to not forget the past when a "Hot roll" comes along. Everyone gets so pumped for a hot roll or if the shooter hits 2/3/4+ points.... they forgot the last three times that guy threw it was 7 and out. Does one hot roll make up for 4 straight 7-outs? Maybe, depends your bet. Thats why I said "Hot Betting" exists, hot rolls do not.

Why do you think think the fire bet exists?.... because the casino knows you stand a snowball's chance in hell to hit 4/5/6 points before you get a "7-out". They wouldn't give 950-to-1 odds unless they were damn sure it would take you AT LEAST 951 tries to hit it..... which it takes much much more.
