  • First trip to Vegas - Memorial Day weekend.

Hey guys, Me and my friends will be making our first trip to vegas this May. Dates are May 25th - May 29th. Group: 4 guys, 4 girls. (2 are couples and the remaining 4, 2 guys and 2 girls are single, so us two single guys will still be out there trying to "enjoy" this trip lol, well hopefully.) We are staying at the Cosmopolitian.

Now i have learnt quite a lot from reading about clubs and what not from this site haha, but i still thought that if i make a separate thread, it will be easier for me to plan, based on the suggestions that i get.

May 25th is also my birthday, and i have been thinking of getting a table, but honestly its not within my budget to shell out $1500 - $2000 in one night, tht too the very first night, cause i need money for the other 3 days too. I know marquee is free entry for guests if i go before 11. Their day club however is not free for guests and is like $20 for guys mon-thursday and $30 on weekend. And its $10 & $20 for girls.

Other than that what are some other good places that we can go to? I know memorial day weekend, its going to be packed and getting into clubs is going to be a big pain in the ass, so we were just thinking of going to Marquee on friday and saturday.

I jsut needed suggestions on how to plan this trip. Cause there are way too many options for stripclubs, nightclubs, day clubs and honestly i am confused lol.

I do know that one of the girls in our group wanted to go to coyote ugly. How is that place?

With MDW, they will have a sweet DJ line up. Thus meaning the cover will most definitely go up to atleast $50 per guy or more. If you are set on getting bottles, you might want to try a Tier 2 or 3 club like Pure, LAX. A decent place like LAVO has deals going on all the time. Key is get in touch with a host and get lots of quotes beforehand.

Coyote Ugly is a total tourist trap.

lol @ coyote ugly, i dont know how to convince these girls not to go there. ......

also i am not intending to get a bottle.

I just was looking to see what i can do during the day as in what day clubs are good and affordable to enter and what nightclubs.

        First of all, happy birthday!

Second, you should make a budget. Vegas is expensive. Figure out how much each of your friends is REALLY willing to contribute.

Combined that with your own budget.

        Subtract the basics (food, hotel…ect)

The remaining amount is your “fun money”.

        Divide that per night

That is what you can afford every night.

I emphasize this because a lot of friends say they are willing to contribute a certain amount (say $500 bucks) but assume that includes their contribution to the hotel and gas and whatever else.

Make a budget for clubs and day clubs that includes table service, tipping, cover, drinks, whatever.

Third, you are in luck. You have women…which means you might not get fleeced when you go clubbing. The girls can get in for free. When you are booking with your host, hammer this fact again and again. It is good leverage.

Oh ya, and make sure the your female companions brings their A game attire.

Think of it like a painting.

Alone, guys are a common piece of stock art. A dime a dozen. If you don’t bribe or buy your way in (table) you are the same as everyone else. Throw is an equal amount of women and suddenly you are museum material. The ugly duckling is a beautiful swan and the host will feel better about letting you in at a discounted price.

Four, day clubs are an expense you really don’t need to incur if you have a tight budget.

If you are ALREADY paying for a room at the Cosmo, then enjoy what you are ALREADY paying for.

The Cosmo is a new, shiny toy. Go explore it!

Check out the FREE pools. All new things in Vegas attract interesting and good looking people. Pre-game in your hotel room, get buzzed and camp out an early spot by the best pools. You will be fine.

Five, since I mentioned it….. PRE GAME…go buy booze before you go to Vegas. It will save you lots of cash.

Six, go check out the Marquee. It’s new and you get in free. What am I missing?

Seven, you didn’t do yourself any favors being born on one of the most crowded and expensive weekends in Vegas….but if you want a good time and don’t want to pay for a top tier club (XS, Tryst, Tao) go check out Jet. I have had some good times there and the crowd is usually pretty good.

You can also go club hopping at the Palms. Try the Palms wristband deal. It will get you into Ghostbar and Rain and Moon and you can pick your poison. With your group, it’s probably best not to be tied down to one spot.

Also, do not over look casino or hotel lounges and bars as a way to start the evening. Lots of good, cheap fun to be had. The veterans on this site like Gold. Try that out.

Eight, why are you even thinking about a strip club if you have women with you..unless, they are into that as well, in which case I should be asking you for advice.

Nine, if this is your first trip to Vegas I am assuming you are pretty young or inexperienced. Not hating, just stating.

        Be careful!

Stick to a buddy system. This instinct is practically drilled into women nowadays but guy’s survival instincts seem to go to sh%# in Vegas.

        Watch out for each other.

If you split up, make pre-arranged meeting plans or divide your keys up accordingly because people tend to do really stupid sh%* in Vegas.

Being locked out your hotel room at 4am sucks, especially if you have a girl with you.

        Get it?

TEN, if you want to go out, contact Jack Colton’s approved hosts. Be honest, be polite and be direct. They will help you out but don’t expect the world because people with a lot of spare cash are clubbing right along with you.

I would club hop for 1 night or 2 and then pool your money together and get at least 1 table somewhere for a night. Maybe Rain or Drai’s or Tryst or something.

It’s a fun experience and to be real with you, chicks dig table service.

        So there…now get busy planning.

        P.S.

Coyote Ugly sucks a gargantuan sized cock. Just a little warning for you.

@Breeze awesome post. Thanks a ton.

I am going to try and convince these girls not to go to coyote ugly.

Abt the strip club comment. We were thinking about going to a strip club cause "everyone" including the girls wanted to experience what a vegas strip club is like. Ya go figure i dont know lol. I am not complaining

Also I will be honest, you are right, we are wht you would call inexperienced and what not, cause most are 21 - 22, thts it. No one is a big baller, i honestly have a budget of $1500 for 4 days, excluding hotel + flight, cause thts already paid for.

Although my Biggest dream is to get a table in vegas, but since we are jsut 4 guys and the other 4 r girls, i doubt it will be possible, since obviously the girls wont pay and one of the guys doesn't drink.

I will definitely look into jet.

How is Lavo for the first night? Wednesday Lavo is good i read. I dont know.

Day clubs again, we just wanted to experience one day, jsut to see what they are like. Definitely not doing it for 4 days straight, even though the others are like they want to go to the day clubs and night clubs everyday.

I am dead sure, after two days, people will not even want to leave their bed.

Definitely will be checking out the cosmo, have heard a lot abt it.

Palms wrist band deal is worth it? Do we get to skip the line? or do we still have to stand in line, but is a different line for those with wrist bands.

shiv - if you're really trying to budget this - skip trying to make a big club your priority and just hit up the strip and hang out with your friends. Don't try to push for going to the clubs. If you want to do it, do your big club night Wednesday/Thursday, not Friday/Saturday.

What you've last written is a good indication of your group dynamics: you're young, the girls don't want to pay for table service and one of your guys doesn't drink (which boggles my mind every time - the wrong kind of person to go to Las Vegas with - girl or guy).

Breeze has a lot of good points so I won't re-hash his/her information.

Remember that you'll always have time to go to Las Vegas again and use this time to get a feel for the place and do your research. Then, next time, you can go big.

Lavo is a chill club. One of the senior hosts, Donnie, frequents this site quite a bit. Hit him up.

Honestly, I default to table service almost everytime now. Give Mikey at Surrender a ring. He might be able to give you some good tips on the scene at the Wynn/ Encore.

I'm not that old (mid twenties) but there is a big difference between my Vegas trips now and the ones I took was in college.

The Palms was my favorite spot back then. Rain was more of a BFD back then but the main attractions for me back then (young, good looking girls, good dancing scene, reasonable drinks, great club hopping spot) those have not changed.

Rain and Ghostbar are still 2 of my favorite spots.

In fact, I HIGHLY recommend going to Ghostbar on your first "night out". The view and music are ...epic....its a great way to be baptised.

So yes, the wristband deal is a good option. Show the band to security. You shouldn't have to wait more tham 15 minutes. Just remember that it is only offered on the weekends.

Also, you are there on a jam packed weekend. The wait might be longer. So go early and play it safe.

"and one of the guys doesn't drink."

Then why is he going to Vegas?

Thats like a vegetarian going to the world's biggest barbecue.

I am guessing he doesn't gamble either.

Tell me he isn't the other single guy.

Shit man - these are really important questions you gotta consider. I had this happen on my trip in December (with a girl who doesn't drink, no less!).

You may need to be your own wolfpack. Good luck.

Shiv, I strongly suggest that you personally contact the concierge at Cosmopolitan. I too will be there that weekend and I was assured that being a guest there also gets you free entrance into both the Dayclub and Nightclub. I have it in writing and will hammer it home if there are any problems. It could be a case where all of the concierge team aren't on the same page but you can at least try---it will help you save some money.

I do know that one of the girls in our group wanted to go to coyote ugly. How is that place?
This is priceless! Coyote Ugly is one of those places like Studio 54 that non-Vegas goers will try to waylay the group with and will suck precious Vegas-time away from real enjoyment; you will not get this time back. This happens on most trips with Vegas virgins. They hear about some Tier 3 or 4 place from some uncool coworker, aunt, uncle, or someone who hasn't been to Vegas in years and then waste time in a irrelevant place of suckitude! With 4 days, you might be able to let them learn the hard lesson by going there but make sure that they understand that "insert bottom-tier place" is not the right move. Maybe you could refer the girl to this forum so she understands that this is NOT the spot. Don't go down with the uninformed ship!

With 4 girls in the party, you have half of the battle won. With these ladies you should be able to pick up some more women. With 2 women on your arm, some charisma, and grease--doors will fly open. Since Wednesday is your birthday (and coincidentally the cheapest night for bottle service) you may be able convince your group to put in $100 a piece and get it done. You'll be glad that you did it and also your group will enjoy it as well. I've converted many a cheapskate and non-believer with a magical night of bottle service. Make sure you use the hosts on this site, they can help you tremendously.
                        CAN'T WAIT!

Shiv, I say change your budget. Make it bigger. Get a loan from a bank, parents, friend or grandmother. I'm serious. Bring double the amount you were planning or more. Get some bottles on your birthday and tear it up. Marquee might be too crazy on MDW so go somewhere else. It's too late, you'll regret it if you don't. Don't worry about the money.. You're young, you're going to make lots of it over your lifetime. Go to YouTube and watch Vegas club videos for motivation.

Hey thanks for the advice, i will definitely let them know that Coyote ugly is not worth the time haha.

Also the first time i called up cosmopolitian, they had said both the nightclub and the dayclub are free (but they were confused cause the dayclub wasn't open yet). Then when i called again after a month, they told me that the nightclub is free, but the day club isnt.

I will check once again. Also i am going to talk to my group about the table. See the problem with the table was that it says 2 bottles most places has a maximum of 6 ppl. So i was like wow, we have 8 ppl that means i will probably need 3 bottles.

I guess instead of assuming i shld just double check by contacting the host.

P.S: You guys are really helpful. Appreciate it.
