I got quoted $2k + $500 tip for the host for a dance floor table at Tryst. Why am I getting quoted with the tip price for my host in the price? is this common practice? and isnt $500 a lil much? Thanks

No one at Wynn should be soliciting tips. That is a Wynn policy.

Did you request the dance floor table? he's probably telling you what he'll expect, or else in the back or outside you go!

All I asked for was pricing on the patio, dance floor, and upper dance floor tables and thats what he told me.

Should I mention the Wynn policy or am I shooting myself in the foot?

shooting yourself in the head is more like it.

                    hhahahaha

The TIP thing is a really sensitive issue...it seems like there is an article about it every week. Throwing it in someones face is definitely committing suicide for that night.

Try contacting a different host if you're unhappy with that quote.

Even tho a host isn't supposed to solicit tips, some still do it. Also, depending on what night you are going, $2500 for a dancefloor table at Tryst is not a bad deal. Also, shop around...different hosts give different deals.

For a host to outright say the tip when dropping prices for tables is ballsy. The most I've been told is literally "if you take care of me, I'll take care of you".

In this case, with what he/she did, I'd call someone else.

                          Yes, find another host!

I've emailed about four different Tao Host for the same night, and each one of them have quoted me differently.

I think it is insulting for someone to solicit a tip and particularly so when they ask for a particular amount. I always insure everyone is very well taken care of that I come into contact with in the service industry but, I would immediately seek another host.

Maybe Mike or another Wynn employee can comment but, my understanding is this would be considered pretty brazen at Wynn...

imo its bad enough having added gratuity of 20% forced on you. Would like to decide if the service i was getting was anything special myself. Never mind the host telling me what they where getting to.

I will say I have no idea how these employee's are paid etc. So excuse me if this was out of line/wrong.
