I would assume its a bit chilly around then. I might hit Vegas for Halloween, not sure yet though.

Mandalay - $789 (too much, too far)
Mirage - $730 (maybe too much)
Luxor - $645
Excalibur - $589 (maybe too cheesy, but if the price is right..)
NYNY - $702
Monte Carlo - $655 <- Maybe big winner
Vdara - $788
Signature @ MGM - $681

I've heard good things about the signature but its not exactly "on" the strip and its kind of a pain to get anywhere. But for that price that looks like the best choice out of those, did you check Encore/Wynn?
Excalibur I havent heard much about, it's less than $400 for my trip for Labor day and that's including round trip airfare
Mirage would be a good place but for an extra $50 I'd hit Bellagio instead!

I just got my boyfriend together for his trip. I'm sending him off to Vegas because he needs his fun too

The signature is awesome. It's sorta far, in a way.
Pros:
Great rooms, non smoking throughout, which is a nice change from the casinos
Easy to get cabs, there's never a line
Not a long walk to the room-since you just stayed at MGM, I'm sure you know, it's a LONG walk to rooms-here, you get off the elevator and bam, you're there
Minuses
You have to cab it unless you just want to go to MGM, NYNY, or closer.
You don't want to wear your going out shoes- at night- walking back and forth from the casino. Basically, they have moving walkways, but it is still a ten min walk. I wear flippys then change.

Overall, I LOVE the signature, I love the luxury of this place. I've been there twice. Once on a couples trip and once on my bachelorette. It was nice to have a great room to pre-drink in and hang out before going out.

Good luck with that - I sorta know how you feel. I'm employed in a similar position, but luckily, my company's doing alright. Are they planning to clarify your or the company's position any time soon?

They told us we'd be okay, but they also said we were recession proof as well before... I talked with my boss and he said I was fine.. but he's the same one who said we're recession proof.
