Looks like this trip may be on hold.. they just laid off 5 people in my 13 person office. Noooot very good.

That's unfortunate - sucks to have that sword hanging over your head. Hate it when managers utter the phrase "recession proof" cause there's little out there that is. At least you're acting in a prudent matter...

BTW, even though it may be moot now, I did find a Mirage room using their 20th Anniversary offer for a total $550 for the stay... I guess to keep in mind should things turn around...

I know it would make the wait a little bit longer, but why don't you shoot for a December trip? All around, it would be a whole lot cheaper (October's a huge month for conventions) and you could spin it as a Christmas gift. You'd have a better bearings on you and your BF's financial status, as well.

Yeah dec is way cheap, the cheapest rates all year. Mid-late November is good too. I went for the first time in 06 the weekend b/f thanksgiving, it was super cheap and Vegas was just as busy as ever. I'm looking at Jan 14-18 (already planning I know) as a trip with DH. It's MLK weekend and the rates are very good.
But, the weekend before that (Jan 7) is like super expensive b/c of a damn convention and New Years is just insane, unfortunately!
