Wristbands resale

I find it kind of sad the resale game that's currently going on for MayOD.

I understand that some people really want to go there and are willing to offer more than the $5 original price and I do understand it can be tempting for the seller to resale their wristbands at higher price, but in a sense, I think it's not cool.

I've just been told I could have wristbands if I was willing to pay more than $20/wristand because someone before me offered $20 for each of them.

Sorry but I'm not playing that game. If that means I cannot be part of MayOD, then so be it. I have principles.

I'm saying this because I'm afraid that the Black Market for wristbands will be greater as May approaches...

Yea, I'm not exactly cool with the resale thing either. I'm basically shipping these things out at cost and using long-established relationships with all of the venues so that everyone can enjoy themselves. Not stoked on the idea that people are reselling them.

I dunno about a thread for this...coulda just pm'd Jack or a MOD so we could talk to the people involved. As Jack stated above, he doesn't agree with this.

The extra wristbands that I have will be sold at cost OR given away, but I think the real issue here is patience.

Plenty of people have extras but just don't want to give them up until it's closer to May and they know for sure they won't need them.

FCG - I have no doubt that you'll be able to get wristbands

I agree, people are waiting closer till may to give them up incase something comes up and they'll regret selling them and not being able to get anymore.

It's just a disagreement on both sides cause one side wants to hold onto them until they for sure know that they won't need them and the other side wanting to know for sure they have one come May and not have to worry about that and being stressed out over it.

Who's been selling them? Seems like a bit of dick move, especially to Jack who has chosen to do this so that we can have a great time, and not make a profit on it himself.

Like I said in the other thread on this...if anyone has extra ones, just use it as free drink currency or something to the person getting the band. That's still a good return on the $4.

I got 2 wristbands due to i am expecting +1 to roll with me but there is good chance i will be rolling myself so i will have extra wristband in that case. And i will just give away my wristband or just for a beer/shot or something.

I am pretty sure some people got extra wristbands just in case to if anyone else rolls with them. So i am pretty sure close to the date or when everyone is in town there will be more wristbands.

At least you're getting responses back. I haven't gotten any responses if that makes you feel any better.

I feel the same way you do. I haven't booked yet as I'm hinging on getting at least a pass for myself (though I'm looking to take a friend along).

I understand we are supposed to be a close-knit community of Vegas lovers/goers, but we also know how supply and demand works. It sucks..but thats how it goes.

Personally, I would give my bands away....but I can't knock the guy who's selling them at/above price.

*Unless they purposely bought them with the intention of scalping...thats not cool.
